what happens after all this everything?

hey, pals! just wanted to share this piece I animated while listening to my friend MyKey's cover of Rainbow Connection. His music is so sweet, and it has this sort of surreal quality to it. So I made this very surreal grease pencil piece haha. If you watched my intermediate grease pencil tutorial (tysm if ya did!) you might recognize some of the techniques I used on the illustrations here! I used a time offset modifier on the characters, separated the speech bubbles into different GP objects so they could float around independently, and I used a lattice modifier on the background element to make it orbit around with the rainbow. And I got the rainbow effect with shader nodes! that was the first element I put together for this piece, and I thought it had this sorta spooky vibe about it (reminded me of 2001: a space odyssey haha)!

So that's how this piece came together! I might explore these ideas some more someday and make a sticker sheet with some of them, who knows! Anyways, thanks sm for all your support! I'm working on a lot of fun projects rn that I'm super excited to share some more of! I'm also heading out to LA at the end of this month to meet some friends and maybe make some cartoons and stuff!
