I know it's early for next week's podcast but I'm going to forget I saw this. Gameinformer has a completed poll on their main page right now for "What is your favorite Final Fantasy game". The results were FFX - 31%, FFVI - 15%, FFVII and FFXII - 12%, FFVIII and FFXV - 8%, FFII, FF III, FF XIII, FF XIV - 4%. All others received zero votes. What do you make of these results? I find them fascinating

I haven't really played any Telltale games, but I think The Magus (John Fowles book) could work really well in that format.

I'd like to see a return to a more traditional fantasy world, with Ito as director and with a classic jrpg world map design. -Mike

Haven't played enough D&D to give a thoughtful answer to this, haha.

How do you feel about pets or other familiars/companions in video games? Fable 2 springs to mind, where the pet was pretty involved in the gameplay. Which Final Fantasy could have had a pet companion fit well into the gameplay, for example in FF5, if Boko could also be part of the party.

What are the 5 best and worst FF minigames? What makes a good minigame? What minigames have you enjoyed from other RPGs?

Thac0 or bab?

What do you think about Cyberpunk going first person instead of third person like the witcher which CDPR has usually done? Do you think it will hurt the experience or do think the game will be fine

What property would you like to see made into a Telltale game series? I really enjoy their work (although the graphics engine could use an upgrade) and focus on storytelling. I'm not sure if you guys play them at all though

What would you like to see in Final Fantasy XVI? Since we know essentially nothing at this point the world is your Cloyster.

What are 5 games you most want to see remastered for a current system? What are 5 games you most want to see remade for a current system? What aspect of them would you like to see changed in the remake and do you have an idea for improvements? What system would these games be on?

What if you were given the task of converting FF4 into a film? How would you make the story work? Would you condense it - or maybe stretch it out into the Hollywood-requisite trilogy? What other adaptations would you make? Would you cut or add characters? Would it be animated or live-action? Realistic or stylized? How much of the soundtrack could you realistically use in a film? (This is prompted by my realization that essentially all the "character development" for Cecil is pretty much over very early in the story - I feel like Mt. Ordeals has to get moved to the end somehow to support a McKee-style narrative arc, or else you're just collecting crystals for 20 hours. Or am I crazy?)

With the recent success of Asian-led films, notably Crazy Rich Asians and To All the Boys I've Loved Before, the conversation about Hollywood leaving money on the table by failing to diversify their casts has resurfaced. Do you think the video game industry is limiting their potential by designing mostly white(-passing) characters and setting their stories in Euro-centric/inspired places? What else can video games do to meaningfully diversify the medium?
