Podcast Questions!

Hello patrons! On this week's podcast we're going to have Mat from the youtube channel Matthew Shezman on with us. He's an animator, and we're going to be talking about a lot about Mario Odyssey, and have plans to touch on animation within the game. If you have any questions regarding cartoon animation or general game aesthetics, hit us up below! Here's a link to his channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCB4WnO_ELLYdSBxiFn3Wn1A

It was uploaded but there was some kind of error. I fixed it yesterday so it should be available now.

Resonant Arc

Not a question, but you forgot to upload episode 82 of the podcast to iTunes. And I really want to listen to it :)

Do you think Cuphead is a hopeful sign for those of us who want to see more 2d animation in games, or is it just a one off?

Question for Mat: I often hear about musicians being inspired by other musicians and artists being inspired by other artists. When it comes to animation, does inspiration come in the same way? If so, did playing through Mario Odyssey and seeing the quality of animation in that game inspire you?

How useful can changing up the aesthetics of a game or franchise be to re-branding it after it receives negative buzz? I can't help but feel like one of the reasons we haven't seen ANYTHING from FF7 Remake since Square brought it in-house is because they are actually changing the look of the game. Mike once mentioned preferring a cell shaded version of the Last Order anime to that of the hyper realistic style Cyber Connect was going for. I don't think Square is necessarily going that route, but, I do think changing the look of the game would go a long way in revitalizing excitement for FF7 Remake. If the game LOOKED different, could we almost treat it like a brand new product and distance it from the delays and lack of fan confidence that plagued Cyber Connects "old" remake? Would Square do this? Thoughts.
