I think the hints were either from cut-out footage that we haven't seen, or it's from them misunderstanding Fitz when he said the LMD detection system wasn't good enough yet.

That entire "genetic cheating" argument was so misguided. If two people were raised in identical environments and lived identical lifestyles, and then were pit against each other in a fight to the death, the person who has a genetic disposition of being stronger/bigger is not "cheating". Is it a fair fight? No, but it's not cheating! The only time a person can cheat in any capacity is when there are rules imposed, like there are with boxing weight classes. Daisy and Ivanov were literally in an anything-goes fight to the DEATH. Question: Would you make as big a stink over it if Daisy were a Mack-sized man, but still only used his powers to win? If not, then "genetic cheating" is not the issue here.

I feel like AoS never gets enough credit for it's incredibly character work. This is the only show I've ever watched where I like every single character, even the redshirts and villains. Look at Mace, the audience is predisposed to dislike him because he's replacing Coulson but he's such a good character they grow to love him in a relatively short amount of time and that's down to the always solid writing. Honestly the level of consistence in the writing, in this season especially, is insane. I'm glad you guys have grown to appreciate it because I know it was pretty rocky in the beginning. Sidenote: Once you’re done with season 5, I’d recommend going back and rewatching season 1 if you have the time, there's so much foreshadowing and easter eggs you'd pick up on now.

Yall are chronic overthinkers lol! Altho it usually pays off. Simmons was referring to the time that it took to capture and replacr the 4. She was confused because Coulson said he came down immediately when it shouldn't have taken him long. Instead, somewhere between him meeting the superior and then coming to Fitz-Simmoms an abnormal amount of time passed (the time it took to replace them and send LMDs)
