I really enjoyed all the in depth world building the comic gives. The series ends on a good note, but the comic shows the aftermath of the 100 year war. I love that it’s not just an easy fix and people ways of life we’re at stake, like in the colonies.

My favorite part was when Aang broke Yu Dao off the ground. The lesson I learned was pretty much what Iroh had told us in the past. You can't take knowledge from one single source, the same way Aang shouldn't only listen to Roku and Roku alone.

Eventually Yu Dao and the other Fire Nation colonies will become the United Republic, but I think a reason the comic didn't give us that formation is because the characters themselves haven't gotten to the point where they want to turn the colonies into their own nation. At this point they all just agreed that trying to separate Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom people to try to make it go back to what it was a 100 years ago is impossible, while also agreeing that Fire Nation cannot keep the colonies either. Aang may have just walled it off to symbolize that Yu Dao will be its own thing for the moment. I think what is important here is Aang got Zuko to talk to everyone else instead of just deciding to do everything on his own, while Katara got the Earth King to stop and see Yu Dao and how the two cultures have integrated to see the people he would be hurting if he uprooted everyone and not just look at it as a part of Earth Kingdom territory. The characters are learning and talking about what they should do and it will eventually lead to the United Republic. Nahid said it best when he said this is a lot like Korra because it shows Aang became that great founder and larger than life figure, by showing how he and his friends struggled to create a new peace after a century of war.

Can't wait for the Search!!! It was first supposed to be a movie but it got passed over, and we got a full season of Korra (which led to 3 more (for the most part) fantastic seasons) instead. A win-win, in my opinion! Although, it'd be really cool to see the live action Netflix series adapt this as a special after the main series.

Actually they already mentioned what happened to Yu Dao. In the very first episode of Korra in the opening Tenzin mentioned that Zuko and Aang turned the Fire Nation colonies into the United Republic. I originally thought Yu Dao became the foundation for Republic City, but then I remembered that Republic City was on the coast and I think Yu Dao isn't. So I don't know what happened to Yu Dao specifically just that it's part of the United Republic.

I’ve been just for the search such an amazing book series

I'm really happy you all are doing this because it's the closet I'm going to get to having these adventures animated. My favorite part is the link between Aang and Zuko and how in their own ways they both looked to the past for answers even though it might not have led to the best decisions. Zuko's struggle through TLA was my favorite part of the show and he has one of the best character arcs of all time.
