As much as I love Aang and Katara, the sweetie crap is the worst. The writers of 'imbalance', the first of the new series after North and South, cut out all that kind of stuff and had what is probably the best moment between Aang and Katara bar maybe a scene towards the end of The Promise.

2018-12-17 05:45:53 +0000 UTCThe comics do a good job in not only following up on the series, but bridge between A:TLA and LoK. The protestors here are a precursor to the people in LoK who feel like the United Republic is still Earth Kingdom land and supported Kuvira trying to take it back.

Their genocidal maniac of a leader was defeated and they want to act like he was some downtrodden hero who did what he did for the betterment of his nation and its citizens. Ozai was going to BURN DOWN THE ENTIRE EARTH KINGDOM (which probably included the colonies, knowing him)! All Ozai ever wanted was power for himself, not his nation.
