I think to understand the Earth Queen's position against Republic City and Avatar you need to read the comics. She does have a reason for being so negative and to consider expansion, and complete centralization and isolation of her nation. It is reflective of real-world events for WWI to WWII, I think.

This episode shows how the Earth Kingdom has not changed over the years not even after the 100-year war in terms of government and how corrupt and archaic it is especially Ba Sing Se while other nations have progressed. All along the Earth Queen has being doing nothing but to gain her own selfish beneficial instead of bringing wellness and progress to the nation. The Earth Queen also mentions how Avatar Aang and Firelord Zuko stole Earth Kingdom land during and after the 100-year war in order to form the United Republic which is not true. This will be useful information for the episodes to come in this season AND in season 4 so keep your eyes peeled. Also I wanted to mention P'li , the combustion bender is nothing related to Azula lol.

Mako and Bolín grandma Yin, I always have questioned if she is the same Yin, Zuko dates I think in chapter 15 book 2. The short sorties. It’s the same name, Yin and then sort of look the same. Hopefully haters don’t reply at this lol.

One non spoiler thing to note about Zaheer is he is not just some charismatic leader. He was equal to them before he got bending. Remember how brutally effective Amon was when NOT using his bending and how awe inspiring Azula was when she held off team Avatar when she had no powers? Zaheer is like that. He could run with 3 bender prodigies and still be their equal. You will get more backstory to make his character make more sense.

Something that really made me appreciate the attention to detail that went into the animation is the last shot of this episode. You can see Kai's pupil dilate as the light fades when the door closes.

If I were you guys, I would have someone who has already seen this show react to the 2 part finale with you guys cause theres a little easter egg you guys wouldnt ha e noticed before and to clarify some things that happen in those episides
