[Premium Access] Lost - 2x20 Two For the Road - Reaction!

Michael shoots the fuck out of Ana Lucia and Libby in an all new Normies Lost reaction! Looking back on Ana as a character I'm happy that her arc was actually completed. She had realized her wrongdoings off the island before the crash and now that life had gone back to normalcy on this side of the island for her, she had no reason to be a killer anymore. And Hurley... why the hell did you forget the blankets!? Now we will never know who the F Libby was! That and those DUIs probably didn't help!

The script for the episode, or at least the outline, would have been completed by then. Mighty fine coincidence that they both got DUIs in separate vehicles within minutes of each other.

The timing isn't really off when you understand that the story arcs for the season are plotted out way in advance, and the scripts written months before production. The creators explained in an interview (easy to Google) that they had made plans for both Michelle and Cynthia and were afraid after the DUIs (separate vehicles, within minutes of each other) that fans would think they were getting rid of their characters because of the DUIs. I can't say anything more about one of the actresses because it gets spoilery.

That editing between the three facial reactions at the end... Suraj, well done on the perfectly executed DDP smile.

Actually Suraj, your timing on the arrests is just a little bit off. Cynthia Watros and Michelle Rodriguez were arrested on December of that season. So this episode probably went into production sometime in February or it was shot in March, to air in May. It might have been TV Guide or Entertainment Weekly, there was an interview where they talked about Michelle going in with the producers, and the original plan was to kill Ana at the end of season 2, but Michelle was like, well she's already set in Hawaii, so if they wanted to extend her character's time on the show she'd be fine with it. The producers then said they would go ahead with the original plan. Then they described in the article how Cynthia took it hard to be let go of the show, some tears were shed.

In fact the Tailies plot line largely being a letdown is one of the reasons S2 is on the lower end of my scale when ranking the seasons of the show. Not one big established multi-season character comes out of it. Granted Eko would have been that main character had the actor not had difficulties but at the end of the day it resulted in the Tailies never really getting off the ground.

I wish Ana-Lucia ended up being a more fleshed out multi-season character. Michelle Rodriguez being cast for the part obviously meant that couldn't happen though.

Suraj, why does it baffle you? A lot of times when people exit a show, they are sent off with a celebration/party once post production is wrapped. Libby and Ana probably got drunk at their party and ended up getting the DUIs that night. It would not surprise me if that was around the same time that this episode was actually about to air. As for the title, maybe the team changed it to that after the DUIs happened in order to really mess with the fans? lol. Since the episode hadn't aired yet it would totally be possible. The show already had a cult following by that time, and the writers have admitted to doing/adding stuff specifically for the super fans that they knew would spend weeks looking into and discussing it online xD.

Nikki: *Shocked* Rana: *Shocked* Suraj: *Big smile* Me: XD I love you guys so much!

Michael

Maybe they learned they were getting killed off and were like, "Shit, may as well have a night out on the town and give ourselves a send off while we're still in Hawaii" *CUT TO flashing police lights*
