2018-10-18 20:41:41 +0000 UTCFor a Bar Mitzvah you basically help lead a prayer ceremony and read from the Torah. You also have a giant ass party where you invite everyone you know. The people will mostly be Jewish because it's family and folks from the community and friends. But as it includes friends there's always plenty of gentiles. The party itself is usually themed, so the idea of having a bunch of celebrity impersonators is pretty on brand. Presenting the Bar Mitzvah boy with awards seems within the realm of possibility, but making everyone sit there as you collect 16 or 20 awards is a bit much. So, yea, a good match for a slightly exaggerated reality
