[Premium Access] Agents of Shield - 2x10- What They Become

Man does Agents keep getting better. Never thought it would keep getting better but here we are at the mid season finale with answers to Skye's past being revealed , finally going into the cave and just so much seating clenching moments!

" Come on girrrrl " - Tripp

- Rana

[Premium Access] Agents of Shield - 2x10- What They Become

Comments

What's most infuriating is how overtly sarcastic and pedantic they are about every little detail, yet they miss the most obvious (and often clearly explained) things, like 33's mask, and harp on and on about it.

Kyle Semenoff

This was literally the mid-season finale. We had to wait a disgusting number of weeks for the next episode.

Cory Stanish

I don't think looking for better payoff means you don't like good stories. People can just have different opinions.

Doby Greg

Whitehall death was indeed underwhelming. I guess that's the point for Sky's father but still underwhelming as a watcher. I think Trip's death was about stake. Although I never notice he died by accident and would have preferred to not notice it.

Doby Greg

Kelly I agree with a lot of what you have to say but you might want to collapse your non replies into a single comment so it's easier to see what you have to say. Just a suggestion not trying to be toxic :)

Heru Muharrar

Guys. The mask is burned on to her face. She can't just take it off.

Ralph

Also, to be fair, this particular episode was a really big deal. It's the turning point of Skye's story arc and I don't want to speak for anyone else but I've been looking forward to their reaction to this episode for months. So having their reaction be (somewhat) lackluster was pretty disappointing.

Kelly Parks

No, Faddy. First, no one said they hate the show (I don't know why you felt the need to lie). Second, the entire reason for watching the channel is because it's fun. If it starts not being fun, speaking up is perfectly reasonable.

Kelly Parks

"Oooh they are nit picking my favorite show, that means they HATE it!" what a bunch of babies

Fadilla Achmad

I don't think I understood that either the first time I watched. You should be careful commenting on things like that because even if they didn't get it immediately, all will be made clear to them soon enough and if they've already read your comment then their reaction at that point will be underwhelming.

Crabby

Tripp died the worst way, thinking Skye was dead and he couldn’t save her.

Arkwright

Yeah what you just said, that's pretty much it.

Nudeldifudel

Everyone else: It's like a season finale, that's awesome. The normies (well more like Chris and Marketa): It's like a season finale that's bad writing. Like what's up with Chris, can he like be positive for once, he like kills the vibe Everytime.

Nudeldifudel

That mask is like literally fused to her face lmao

DZ

It's amazing how Rana pieces things together so accurately.

Saifu

he's still a dumbshit. piece of shit murderous ass bitch ass motherfucker. LMAOOOO same

Namelessnonnie

It’s the end of the month so I might take a break and cancel my patreon for a month or two so I can just come back and binge these reactions if the crew are more into the show at that point.

Able

Maybe Marketa and Chris just shouldn’t be a part of these reactions. There’s no point if they don’t understand or like the show (and don’t try to understand or like it) and end up just sucking the fun out of it.

Able

PREACH.

Able

I agree with the majority of the previous comments. Almost every reaction I've seen absolutely loves this episode. And don't get me wrong you guys seemed to like it for the most part, but the constant nitpicking is getting old now. If it was any other show I swear you wouldn't even notice half the shit (stuff that's mostly not even deserving of criticism). It's like the two of them came into the show with super negativity thinking why are we watching this and it's clear when you make comments on shit that literally no one else cares enough about to be that annoyed at

Abhi Gudivada

Ugh, one can't really comment on that further without spoiling. But every word in that sentence was wrong.

Varjo

The reaction to Daisy getting out of terrigenesis was a little underwhelming, I think they didn't really understand the "cocoon" didn't just burst of her, she blasted it (and Tripp) to bits.

Varjo

Yeah the actor that plays trip was going to be on the second season of unreal. The cast did a farewell video for him. What episode are you guys on? If there’s any season worth binge watching, it’s four and five. Season three does have a lot of 👌🏾Awesome👌🏾 moments. But those last two seasons as a whole, 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. I’ve been enjoying your reactions. Keep it up. 🤫 no spoilers in the comments🤫

James Avery

And the music he creates for this show only get more amazing each season. It kills me that they haven’t officially released the scores for seasons 3-5. My personal favorite song is in season 3 though .......

Ariel17

Yeah I'm sad they were talking when Cal said that line. It's such a damn good Cal line.

Michael

i had a nice long comment typed up with additional thoughts but i accidentally lost it ANYWAYS just wanted to throw in that daisy/skye's theme is my favorite piece of music from this show and it was done by the incredible bear mccreary (composer of the iconic walking dead theme) who is amazing and continues to score the show to this day we're very lucky to have him and i always gotta make sure to let new reactors know about him bc i'm a huge tv/movie score fan and he's one of the best

Linsey Morris

No offence but that is a dumb argument. They shouldn’t have to fake their reactions just to keep a shows fan base happy. Nobody is obligated to watch their reactions and honestly the moment they start faking positivity is the moment they are gonna lose the actual core fan base. If you want an echo chamber of positivity just watch the show with another tab open playing some cheer sound effects.

Alex Doyi

yeah people have this really strange mentality that the normies HAVE to react the exact way they want them to or they're not doing it right. man i just keep thinking of how much people would hate me if i reacted to this show bc i pick it apart and question it A LOT while i'm watching it it's still my favorite show i currently watch!!! i'm just saying what i'm thinking in the moment. it isn't until the week between episodes that i settle down. i hate that every time they post an episode and give their thoughts on it or their theories or just random things that pop in their head, their comment section is just overrun with people being annoying about how They're Not Doing It Right. u guys are gonna drive them away from this show if you don't cut that shit out, let them EXPERIENCE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME. none of us went into this show knowing what we know now just sit down and shut up and let them figure it out on their own damn.

Linsey Morris

It’s ok lol not everyone loves a good story. Rana obviously gets that this isn’t cliche. Things are not going to happen the way you think they should in this show which is what makes it so good.

Jonathan Jones

Agent 33's face is burnt off. Even if she could take off the mask why would she want to?

Rufus May

Normies: I think you're drifting away from what should be your core business model. Going back decades, starting when movies and TV shows were first available on VHS from your local Blockbuster (or in your personal collection), it became a thing where when talking about a show with a friend and finding out they hadn't seen it, to be able to say, "You need to see that show right now!" and watching it with them because you get to re-experience the awesome show you love through them and their reaction to it. That experience is the entire appeal of a reaction channel. That's why I watch them. But what that means is that if you don't like the show in question then you *can't* provide that experience. And not only can't you do the thing I tune in for, but you being there clearly not enjoying yourself (sorry if this sounds harsh) poisons the whole experience. I've heard some of you say before about this issue, "Well, that's our honest reaction." But you're a reaction channel, not a review channel, and if you can't provide the positive reaction the fans of the show seek you shouldn't be reacting to the show in question. Fortunately for you (unlike so many other reaction channels) you have a sizable bench and can switch people out as needed. Please know I love the channel and you're all awesome. I just want you to be able to keep delivering the thing I'm seeking.

Kelly Parks

I don't know why people are upset because the reactors question things that go on in an episode. Most of us had our own questions and off-base speculations as we watched it for the first time, but we slowly figured things out when pieces were later revealed. That's a sign of a well-written show. The only difference between us and the Normies is that we didn't have people watching us question things as we watched. Great reaction from all, Normies!

That's another arc that's really amazing.

Kelly Parks

Don't get me wrong, i don't wanna tell you how to react to the story, it's just a little underwhelming to see those kinds of reactions to THE most game-changing episode of the series. I understand that some of you are pretty busy and tired or stressed from work and that's totally fine, only a little disappointing that it happens in this episode, because it is really changing the whole series

Sascha Koch

Agent 33 never took the mask off, it's a permanent damage. And if Whitehall would have survived this episode you would have said: "Oh that was so predictable of them to let the main villain live, lazy storytelling." Also, isn't it understandable how Skye's father is acting? Whitehall destroyed his family by butchering and killing his wife and for that reason he lost his daughter and never got the chance to see her grow up. Of course he wants revange for that and of course he's upset after Coulson killed Whitehall before him.

Sascha Koch

Peaky?

maybe they were going to watch the next two episodes in this sit down?

Macy

Pretty spot on, dude.

Nudeldifudel

Anyone think it’s strange that rana said she is excited to see next “ two” not just next episode like she knows something about those episodes

Christopher simeon

The Cozy 4 are the best. :)

Daisy > random people > Avengers

"I can't imagine she'll be too powerful." He's so cute :') Sweet Summer Child.

João Rodrigo

The reactions were better with just Rana, Suraj, Nahid, and Mickey.

Mten10th

The mask is permanently fused to her face, so she can't take it off. Also, leave Skye's father alone.

Kal-El_138

The mask is broken. How hard is it to accept that lol

Sou saetern

team ward mentality tends to happen with people who dont care that hes murdered a bunch of people because these are fictional characters in a fictional story and brett dalton is extremely likable. its fun to watch ward be bad.

jacob emiliano

it's been years and i'm still not okay with trip's death. i've been told many times that it's bc the actor bj britt was going to move on to other projects but still...i loved trip and i'm always gonna be a little bitter and sad about it #triplives. i gotta say it's always really weird to me every time team ward people make excuses for him and then get offended when other people do things to hurt him lol like some of you saying it wasn't right of skye to shoot him like that uhhhh why not? how many times has he tried to kill members of her team (that she sees as her family)? i'm pretty sure some of u said the same things about jemma in previous episodes as well i think it was when she threatened him a few episodes ago. and in terms of the "wow he really loves skye" UH COOL MOTIVE STILL MURDER?? he's murdered HOW MANY innocent people by this point? idk man i'm glad chris and marketa aren't budging on him lmao they're right he's still a piece of shit. the team ward mentality just....will never ever make sense to me i don't sympathize with psychopaths. it's one thing to enjoy him as a villain like suraj says he loves to hate him but when you're defending things he's done because he "loves skye"?? no thanks!! i knew marketa would enjoy skye shooting him so i laughed at her little happy nod lmao

Linsey Morris

Chris: "I can't imagine she'll be too powerful." Hahahahahahahahaha!

Kelly Parks

Yeah, in all the reactions I've ever watched for this show, no one else has seemed to find this a big issue and yet. here, it's almost like its a show killer for them.

Calculatus Eliminatus

The no eyes guy was asking if the person he was talking to on the phone was "seeing" this. He wasn't implying he could see it (though he plainly could -- all will be explained).

Kelly Parks

What he said. Chris, love ya, man, but if you're not into the show you shouldn't be there.

Kelly Parks

Exactly, yet another example, of the many, that they have a plan. Quit fighting the small stuff and learn to enjoy the overall story.

Calculatus Eliminatus

Jesus Christ guys, it's fused onto her face. How hard is that to understand?

Trent Bowles

Marketa seems to have such a good heart and genuine desire for the "right thing" to happen. Unfortunately, I think that also causes her to have trouble with things that are grey or ambiguous or don't have a definitive on-screen explanation. This show often asks you to have faith that they know where they are going. I just don't think she has that trait. Most of the time, and I mean 80% plus, there is a reason for things you don't understand. When Marketa thought it was weak writing for Cal to go to Whitehall and made no sense, she complained.. And yet, it was proven to be EXACTLY what should have happened. Regrettably we didn't get to see her reaction or acknowledgement. And here we are again with being unhappy with the story. Truly, if you can find it to just trust the show and wonder what the good reason is for something rather than assume it's lazy or bad or stupid writing, this show WILL reward your good heart. Chris seems to watch every scene with a mind to finding what's "wrong" with it, rather than a mind set of seeing the story being told. Who cares that Agent 33 missed the shot? Do you want them to kill Cal and Coulson? They had to move the scene along and get Cal and Coulson out of there. If they had spent five minutes in hall talking about about it you would have complained "where are all the other Hydra people?" When you spend your time looking for these minor issues you miss a much bigger reward. It also invites others to nitpick your nitpicks.

Calculatus Eliminatus

Think back to that weird dream Skye had a couple episodes ago. The song playing during the dream is the same song Cal just hummed to her. It's called "Daisy". Also, when this first aired and Cal (her father) called her "Daisy", heads across the internet exploded.

Kelly Parks

The introduction of Mike Peterson in season 1 started a story arc that ended up being the origin story of actual Marvel comic book character Deathlok. Skye represents a similar, longer arc in the sense that she is someone from Marvel comics and the writers had that planned from the beginning.

Kelly Parks

Finally! I've been waiting for this one forever! Great reaction! Also, quick reminder. You're watching a show that takes place in the Marvel Universe. Of course people get powers!

Kelly Parks

Correct. When May burned Agent 33's face with that electric wire it made the mask impossible to take off.

Kelly Parks

Suraj left and Marketa/Chris clearly don't get the show.

Calculatus Eliminatus

"Now, I'm gonna kill the man who destroyed my life" was such a cool moment   Whitehall was a creep through and through "Now watch what I do to your daughter " I understood Cal’s fury at Coulson, shooting him with a double tap was too easy, the fucking Nazi didn't suffer enough   I hate Ward with all of my being but no matter how many times I watch it I still can't believe how unhesitant and cold-blooded Skye was, she shot Ward and kept going without so much as a look back, I was as shook at Ward. Also I don’t think she knew about that bulletproof panel in his vest, she was really trying to kill him.   Damn, it’s been four years and Trip’s death still hurt, to be honest, I’m still mad about it. The way he died is so HIM though, he did die a hero he prevented everyone from being buried alive by the bombs they set up, and the reason he kicked the Obelisk trying to destroy it was he thought Skye was dying, what happened to her and Raina was really close to what happened to all the people who held the Obelisk without being “worthy” throughout the season, he was trying to stop the process. Skye, I mean Daisy changed, she changed, I’m so looking forward to you reacting to the next episode. Great reaction Normies

BlackHeart279

weird choice to make the episode big and the reaction small, I mean, it's your reaction we want to see, we've already seen the episode lol.

Jules Eris

I've been waiting for this reaction for so long...finally it's here! As for why Tripp kicked the obelisk...it's easy for us to be rational, but he was in a desperate situation where his friend might be dying. He wanted to do something to stop it, and the crystal was the reason for the change to happen in the first place. I don't think it's bad writing, it's just hard for us to truly comprehend his state of mind. And I like the way Whitehall was killed - he was never meant to be the "big bad", we were only meant to think that. And he served more as a way to add to Daisys character growth with the whole almost killing Coulson-thing.

olof

marketa: you are confused by the writing because youre making assumptions about the structure of the show and how it tells stories. if youre turning up your nose because youre expecting things to go a certain way, or that something was introduced for a certain reason, of course you will be confused when things happen that dont line up with that.

jacob emiliano

Yeah from this point on the seasons are broken into arcs so they're very much like a 10 to 12 Netflix season format. It definitely works for them and removes filler episodes they used to have in season 1

Tau Katungi

Or maybe, they killed Whitehall quickly because it would have been cliche to just keep him around. And Tripp had to be written out because the actor had another full time job. Sigh.. You want underwhelming? The people watching it who just want to rag on things they don't understand. The problem isn't the show and the story telling it's that you have such terrible assumptions and cliche that you keep trying to force the story to match. And then when it doesn't match what you "think" it should do, you assume the show is wrong instead of you. And I had been so excited to see Marketa see that she was right about Ward. Oh well. Go Rana!!!! Everyone should follow your lead. Even when you are mistaken you get the spirit of the story and then you don't let what you "thought" would happen get in way of what actually happens. I love that you embrace it and try to figure things out from the point of view of the characters in the story.

Calculatus Eliminatus

shocked the hell out of me lol - Rana

The Normies

It's a shame Whitehall was nothing more than a stepping stone. He was an interesting a pretty scary villain that I would've loved to know more about. That being said, the episodes coming up for this season I believe are even better than what we've gotten so far.

Gezno

I hated the fact that skye shot ward

Danny Moore

She is already an official Agent lmao I love her reactions so much. This whole group is good tho

MOB12

And... here... we.... GOOOO!!! Also someone let Marketa know that her mask is permanently infused. She can't take it off. Correct me if I'm wrong cause it has been a little while since seeing the show

MOB12

YEEEE BOOIIIII

Jules Eris

if theres ever a agents of shield reaction without rana, it will be a dark, dark day
