Hi everyone!
I wanted to give you all a proper update on what's happening behind the scenes with the SteinWipe project - and there’s a lot going on.
First off, SteinWipe V2 dev is going really well which I've settled on calling it SteinWipe Pro. It’s still in testing, but so far it’s performing really well! There are a few final kinks to sort out, but this is shaping up to be a solid upgrade over the original hardware. Once the design is finalized and the code is ready, I’ll be doing a full breakdown of how it works and what’s changed - but for now, I’ve got to keep it under wraps. 😉
In the meantime, I’ve been getting a lot of messages about SteinSwitch Definitions. Many people are still unsure how to use them or don’t realize they replace the old method of manually editing G-code. So tonight I quickly whipped up a short demo video to help clarify how this new system works. It’s only 3 minutes long and covers the basics of how SteinSwitch Definitions work with the latest Apr.28.1 release for BBS + P1S and X1C.
I know all the changes and features rolling out can get a bit overwhelming, especially for those who got here by the older videos. That’s why I’ve also been working on the ultimate long-form how-to video, which I plan to release alongside SteinWipe Pro. It will cover:
Every step of how to get started
Pro-tips
Details on SSD's
Where this whole project is going
Plus lots of FAQs
When I started working at this video my hair was buzzed and now it's getting quite long so it's taken some time for sure to get all the much needed details into it. Right now it’s already over 30 minutes long and I’ve still got more to add... so I’ll make sure to include a proper chapter index for experienced users to jump to the parts they care about. I want the launch of this new project to be 100% solid, easy to understand and follow, and most important - get you the most out of your printer and material with minimal learning curve and time investment! Still no official release date planned or pricing just yet, but I will keep you all in the loop as these details unfold.
On a personal note, life has been extremely... full lately. Some of that is from good things - like summer activity promises I made to my 9 yr old son last year before Leckiestein was even a thing! But also unfortunately, I’ve been dealing with some very real challenges at work tied to trade relations between the US and Canada which has kept us on our toes, and just now our key team member has been taken away by a family emergency pulling them out of the country for the next few weeks. It’s made balancing everything incredibly difficult, but this is temporary so please know that I’m still fully committed to this project and things are still moving even if I'm not able to post the details as often. My heart IS 100% in it!
That's all for now, thank you all so much for your continued support. I can't wait to show you SteinWipe Pro!
