My muse

Alina

I haven't had the pleasure of shooting with muses for a long time. Losing interest in shooting with them... I always thought that with other models I could get some more interesting result than when I shoot self-portraits. That they can help me see what I cannot see until I observe it. But it was all a delusion. In fact, there is no search for something new or delving into creativity... basically we just shoot the way I know how and the model poses as she is used to. Nothing new is revealed. It's like commerce and not art. Of course, there are models with whom you can go deeper or reveal yourself to me as a photographer and to her as a model to show herself in a completely different way - but this is such a rarity.

The feeling that I'm wasting time looking for something new when I'm trying to find my development in filming with other girls. I need to stop focusing my attention on this and probably return more to the study of myself in self-portraits and documentary. And don't expect anything from the muses except communication and just good shots.

I think what you're describing, in part, is the difference between a model and a true muse. Models will help you create good shots. A real muse will be able to help you explore your art medium, will inspire you, and will challenge you to grow as an artist ... at least that's what I picture when I hear the term "muse".
