Selfportraits

I once (back in the fall) shared with you my feelings that I am standing still and not developing, that in recent months I have been disappointed with filming - there is always something missing. And I promised that I would experiment. So these are my first efforts with artificial light in the studio. I can't say that I was satisfied with the result, but everything is not so bad. I have to try again until I am satisfied. This year turned out to be experimental for me) Shooting paired with another model, shooting with artificial light, a wide-format lens - wow, it's interesting what will happen next.

What I am satisfied with

- I tried the studio light

- chose a blue color for the background, which is not typical of me

- I experimented a little with color correction in B&W

What I am not satisfied with

- did not experiment enough with posing

- slightly changed the position of the light and the position of the camera

- at which time I realized that self-portraits in underwear or body accessories do not work for me

- in general, the mood is too similar to my usual one.

What do you think about all this?

The pics and thoughts from your experiments are so interesting, especially now that I'm preparing for a shoot with a model. I don't really have any photographer friends, let alone someone so much more advanced than me, so this is the only way I get to know how someone else thinks about shooting and it's always so eye-opening!

Blue is working, rather well in most. Most of the B&W are too dark, and you're right about the sameness of mood. That said, the model is beautiful and it always comes through: a few more shots of her above the shoulders would be most welcome. You have a wonderfully expressive face, let it shine.
