Chani's Star : Experimental Vacation

"Hnngh...nggh...ohh..."

Flynn was a good friend. A caring friend. And an understanding friend.

"C'mon....ooohh..."

But watching the poor, overbloated bunny next to him desperately try to reach the snack being offered to her by the drone affectionally known as "Pierre", while also trying not to make him scoot closer as she already felt guilty about him acting like a tiny waiter? Well, you gotta appreciate the little amusements in life like that.

But not for too long. "Hey little bud, the good doctor needs you to skitter just a smidge more to your left there, yeah?"

With a peep and a wiggle of his little fake mustache (which at no point has anyone succesfully been able to remove from the little guy), Pierre wiggled closer to Yasty's straining hand, finally getting the much desired donut within reach.

She grunted a bit more and got a hold of it, breathing a short, stilted sigh of relief of what air she could get out of her compressed lungs. "T-thank you...Flynn...but I didn't wanna...treat him like...a tool..." She panted.

Flynn shrugged. "The little dude loves carrying stuff around like that, you know that. It's what makes him happy, you shouldn't feel guilty!" He gave the set of eggs he was gestating a gentle tap. "Besides, we're both supposed to be on our best restful behavior until Ray and the boss get back. So no straining, right?"

Yasty sorta-sighed again in defeat. "Okay, okay...fine." She eyed the donut in her hands hungrily. "But I'm going to send him... a little thank you note and... a new bowtie when I'm less...orbular." A few more breaths, and then she popped a third of it into her mouth. She couldn't really fit much into herself at this point, but her brood was hungry and so was she.

Flynn couldn't imagine what possessed her to want to have yet another huge batch of baby calerians after how absurd the first time was, but he had to give her credit for her gusto. Nine of them was ridiculous, but apparently this time she was closer to a dozen. He tried to picture his old boss trying to rock twelve screaming bunnies to sleep with that everpresent grim expression of his, but despite how well he managed to do with Yasty's first set, he still couldn't properly imagine it.

Still, it wasn't like he was one to talk. Part of the experimentation going on between Ray and Maddelena was trying to explore more of what innanites can do with regards to using other creatures as hosts, and after Lena's succesful trial run carrying a set of eggs herself, Flynn was next up on the plate. There was a further ulterior motive to this, but the xenobiologist insisted more time and theorycrafting was needed before they could even think of bringing that part up. On the plus side, he only had to carry three, whereas Lena...well, Ray wasn't used to 'implanting' yet and might've 'filled the tank' a bit too much.

Ah, the look on Talever's face.

"Ommghph...so good...mmph..." The large bunny burrow next to him was still making agonizing work of her donut, but she was getting there. Hopefully that just didn't also overtax her juuuust enough to drop her litter right then and there, but everyone remembered how many tricks and tips she tried out to go into labor last time around, so surely it wouldn't be that easy this time, right?

It'd be terrible for Nikolai to miss the big event while stuck at the Purple Person Convention with Ray and Ellie after all.
