Hi Derek! Glad to hear your breathing is better, take good care of yourself okay?
Talking about drug references and shows, I just finished the anime Banana Fish. I'm not sure if you're really into anime but I can recommend that one. It's about mafia gangs in the US and a terrible new type of drug.
The liveshows you talked about seem like so much fun! I can't wait until I can see one in person again. The government here has locked us up for 3 months and counting. Curfews, nothing is open... ugh. But hey, next week are the elections for a new government and it's my first time voting!
I'm so sorry to hear Hina got hit by a fan. That's unacceptable. Hina is such a kind soul from what I've seen and she didn't deserve that. Nobody does. I hope she's okay.
As of now I don't have any ideas for your variety show idea nor patreon in general but I'll think of something when my mind is more clear. One thing I did think of is that you could have the two girls of which you put in the monthly cheki tier, write something or you could write something about them. Sometimes it's hard to identify which idol it is so it'd be lovely to know their name and something else too.
You flatter me too much Derek! What I admire about idol culture is the way people support these girls with everything they have, and what the idols do to thank them. I'm happy to be a fan, and it's all thanks to you for pulling me in.
Lots of love as always, Romy

Hey Derek,
That live sounded great fun and hopefully the fans getting to mix and dance again will continue. I’m still dreaming of the day when I can go to a live in my own country let alone Japan, all things going well the U.K. will be back to normal in June/July time and hopefully we’ll start to see gigs returning soon thereafter.
Re the fan who hit Hina, totally unacceptable and needs to be sorted out and put in his place (preferably hospital). At a minimum needs to be banned from any future MBE shows.
A Burst Girl show without chaos in the crowd doesn’t seem right - some of my best experiences has been in amongst the fans with all the pushing & shoving, lifting and surfing by the fans and the girls; and being excepted by the Japanese fans when you help with the lifts etc - great fun.
Ideas for the variety shows:
The werewolf game - this seems to be popular at the moment, Codomomental groups have played this a few times on their YouTube channel but no subtitles. I think it works best with a minimum of 7 people so maybe get 2 or 3 groups interested in playing.
What’s in the box? - this always made me laugh when seeing it on AKBingo. Girls have to blindly guess what’s in the box and the other idols trying to bluff them as to what’s really in there.Normally when they think it’s going to be an animal in the box is when it’s funny/cruel.
Dodgeball and/or Tug of War - could have a competition between groups
Cooking shows - idols could show us how to cook their favourite dishes
Places of interest in Tokyo - idols show us their favourite spots they like to visit in Tokyo, could be a park, a temple, a walk by the river, shops, etc.
Photography- if any of the idols like taking photos, perhaps a show following them around and then an opportunity to buy the photos taken.
Darts and/or table tennis matches - competition between idols
Karaoke - always interesting to see idols sing songs other than their own. Perhaps using one of those games that rate you (seen Kpop idols do this).
Ok, I’m starting to draw a blank so I’ll leave you with those for now and I’ll add more if I think of any
Graham
