Sins of Love, Renesme Silverstein - Part 7.

He wrapped his arms around the small body of the girl he was hugging before lazily opening his eyes. He was sleeping with his face nestled in her bosom. She was young, but she had an ample bosom for her age.
“Do you plan on falling asleep again?” She inquired in an amused and gentle manner.
“I could stay like this with you for days.” He answered and nuzzled his nose in her bosom.
Renesme giggled, and though she felt a little uneasy, she didn’t push him away.
“What time is it?”
“Keira said that Dinner is in one hour. It has only been a few minutes since she left with Serafina.”
“Serafina was here as well?”
“Yes,” She nodded. “Serafina stayed with us the entire day. You were asleep, so we conversed about some things. She told me about the matters of the world and her life story. And I told her mine.”
“It’s good that you are getting along.” He nodded and tightened his arms around her. “But you don’t have to force yourself to do anything for my sake, girl.”
Shazan knew that Renesme had an aloof nature. She didn’t like to converse with people a lot.
“I know,” She stroked his head gently and ran her fingers through his hair. “But I did enjoy conversing with them, and since they are going to become my sisters, I have to get along with them.”
“You talked with Arianna earlier today?”
“Yes, Keira was on the call with her, and suddenly she handed the phone to me.” Renesme giggled as she recalled what happened earlier. “Your little sister is very protective of you. She said that she would kill me if I harmed you.”
“Oh…”
“She didn’t say it straightforwardly, and she has a way with her words. She didn’t come out as rude.” Renesme clarified things to him.
“I know how she does things.” Shazan sighed and then a bright smile blossomed on his face. “I have a feeling that you two will get along with each other just fine.”
“What makes you so sure of that?” She asked curiously.
“Just a feeling. I can’t explain it.”
She remained silent for a while, and her hand kept lovingly stroking his head. It was so peaceful and comforting that he thought he would drift off to sleep again, but he didn’t want to get out of her embrace.
“I believe you,” Renesme said and seemed to be lost in her thoughts.
“Is there something bothering you?” He inquired as he turned his face to look at her. He gently brushed her cheek with the back of his fingers.
“No. It’s just that I have the same feeling about it.”
“About getting along with her?” He curiously asked.
“Yes,” She nodded.
He couldn’t understand what was so significant about having the same feeling.
“Does that mean something?”
Renesme nodded her head in acknowledgment, and she thought before telling him about it.
“For me and you to have the same feeling about something holds meaning behind it. It’s not a coincidence.”
He couldn’t understand why she had said so, but he understood what she was implying.
“You sound like a mystery,” He shook his head and chuckled. “Don’t think too much about it. It’s a good thing that you feel like you will get along with her just fine. She is the most important person in my life, Renesme.”
“I can sense it,” She said, and then looked right in his eyes. “Do you think I would ever hurt you?”
“No.” He answered without any hesitation.
“Then why are you not asking me the question you are holding back in your heart?” Her smile ceased. “Why are you allowing it to eat you?”
The sadness in her voice constricted his heart. It was not that he was keeping it in inside of him. It was just that he lacked the courage to ask the question. He was scared of losing her.
“I want to ask it, Renesme. I want an answer to it, but I am scared.”
“I told you I will be by your side forever.” She stressed her words.
Shazan closed his eyes. A tear slipped out of the corner of his eye and rolled down his cheek.
“Lyanna said the same thing to me. She always said that she will be by my side forever.” His voice wavered, and his body trembled. “And she didn’t keep her words.”
Renesme could read his mind and his memories. She knew what was going on inside his mind. She wanted to comfort him, but she understood that it would only make him remember all those memories more.
“You want to know why the people in my family die young, right?”
Her question made his heart thump hard against his chest.
“They die young because of a curse of Death.” She didn’t hide the pain in her voice.
“A curse?”
Renesme nodded her head.
“Axius committed a grave crime, and their punishment was the curse of Death. The family was exiled from their home. No member of their bloodline could live for more than 25 years. Some would die just after turning 20.”
Shazan’s heart shuddered just at the thought of it. There was rage burning in his heart, but the sadness was now shrouding it.
“You have the curse as well?” He asked with great difficulty.
“I have it.” She nodded.
Her answer wreaked havoc in his heart and mind. He forgot to breathe, and then his body trembled in fear of losing her. His arms tightened around her, and tears spilled out of his eyes.
Seeing him like that ached her heart, but she couldn't lie to him.
“I told you, I will be by your side forever.” She reminded him. “There’s a way to break that curse. I am not an Axius, and so I can break it.”
The words were like a ray of hope to his weakening heart. He controlled his breathing and then looked her in the eyes. She gently brushed off the tears from his face and smiled at him.
“You are not lying to me, are you?” He asked her.
“Do you think I would lie to you?” She asked back.
He turned silent at her question, and then apologetically lowered her head.
“Why have you not broken the curse yet? It was the reason why you had to fall asleep last night after you pulled that off on Gladrielle, right?”
Renesme was surprised at his words. She had tried her best to hide her pain last night, but he had seen through it. And now she felt bad about not clearing things to him earlier.
“Yes, that was the reason why I had to get some rest.” She nodded. “And the reason why I couldn’t break it before was that it was not in my hands to break it. But now I have what can break the curse on me.”
Her words made him curious, and his mind was making sense of things finally. His eyes narrowed, but then he sighed and buried his face in her bosom.
“It’s me, isn’t it?” He asked her. “That was why you were so happy to meet me.”
His words were harsh, but he was upset right now.
“Yes, It’s you.” She answered him. She leaned in and planted a kiss on his head. “But the prospect of finally being able to break the curse was not the reason why I was happy when I met you.” She whispered near his ear. “You felt it too, right? The feeling of familiarity when you saw me. Do you have an explanation for that?”
Renesme didn’t have a hint of hurt in her voice. She didn’t mind his harsh words. She held a sweet smile on her lips as she kept stroking his head. For him to express what bothered him to her was a sign of his trust in her and the fact that she mattered to him.
He felt the love in her words, and the little fears vanished. His heart calmed down, and now his mind was working on making sense of everything Renesme had revealed to him. He wanted to know why it was him that could help her break the curse. There was something about him that Renesme refused to reveal to him. She knew things he was unaware of.
The fear of the unknown might eat the hearts without faith, but he knew that no matter what, Renesme would never harm him or his family. That was what mattered the most to him. As long as she would be by his side, he knew that he wouldn’t lose himself.
“What do you need me to do to break it?” He asked her.
“Nothing. The curse will be gone once you make me yours.” She blushed and answered him.
Shazan was a little confused at her words, but then he understood what she was saying. He didn’t know how that would help in breaking the curse, but the racing heart of Renesme told him it was how things were. A smug smile crept on his lips, and he planted a kiss on her bosom.
“I was going to wait for your thirteenth birthday, but now we will be getting married once we return home.” He told her.
Renesme’s heart skipped a beat at his words. Her face turned crimson in her blush, and she meekly nodded her head.
“And tell me, girl, why do you smell so heavenly.” He asked her playfully.
“The embodiment of Life has to smell like it, doesn’t it?” She said her words with pride.
“Yes, yes, you are my life as well now.” He said his words and then nibbled on her breast.
“Ehhh.” She screamed and vanished from his hold.
Shazan felt his head smack in the bed, and then he turned around to look by the side of the bed where Renesme stood. She was blushing hard and glaring him cutely.
“What?” He asked her teasingly.
“Nothing,” She answered, and then lowered her head.
She recalled the words he had spoken to her. They will be getting married tomorrow, or the day after it. She was scared now. The words of Keira rang in her mind as well. She had told him that he would hurt her a lot on her first night. And the thoughts running in his mind made her even more embarrassed. He knew she was reading his mind, and so he was teasing her in that way as well.
“My Esme is the most beautiful girl there is…” He voiced out his thought and her smile bloomed brighter.
Luckily, Keira and Serafina entered the room and saved her more embarrassment.
“Has he been teasing you?” Keira only needed a glance to understand what happened here. She walked over to Renesme and wrapped her arms around her. “Behave!” She looked at him and admonished him.
“No,” Renesme called out. “It’s fine.”
Serafina could help but laugh at the behavior of the three of them. And her laughter made the rest of them smile.
“It’s nearly Dinner time. You want to eat here or do you want to eat with the rest of the people in the Palace?” Keira inquired him.
“Just order it to be served here. I am not in the mood to see their faces.” He lazily replied before lying back in the bed.
“Enough of your laziness. Go freshen up. You slept for the entire day.” Keira sternly reminded him.
“Alright, alright…” He unwillingly got up from the bed and walked inside the dressing room.
“Believe me, if he’s left on his own, he would never leave the bed. He is that lazy.” Keira shook her head, and a sweet smile adorned her face.
“Did you talk it over with her father?” Renesme asked Keira.
“Yes, Stephen agreed to it. He seemed pleased and allowed Serafina to stay with us.”
“That’s good. He told me that we will be getting married as soon as we return home.” Renesme whispered.
“What?!” Serafina called out in surprise.
“He has no patience…” Keira caressed Renesme’s head and chuckled. “Oh well, I expected such a thing.”
Keira knew him better than she knew herself, and it was clear that Shazan was finding it hard to keep himself in control when it came to Renesme.
“But…” Serafina seemed to have something on her mind, but then she just shook her head. “Well… I get to see the wedding!” She excitedly jumped in the air and clapped her hand. “We have to choose a dress for her!”
“Yes,” Keira nodded. “I will inform others back home, and I will ask Helen about it.”
“There’s no need for that…” Renesme shook her head.
“Why not? We are so not allowing you to get married in normal clothes. We will prepare the best of the best.” Serafina said, and Keira nodded to her words.
“It’s not that… I actually have my own clothes,” She said and smiled. “My mother prepared them for me, and there are a lot of them.”
“Oh…”
Keira and Serafina knew that Renesme’s parents had passed away. And they didn’t want to say anything that would evoke any sad memories for the little girl.
“Will you show us the dress you have chosen?” Keira gently asked her.
“Mhm…” Renesme nodded. “Close your eyes.” She told them.
The girls didn’t know why she had asked them that, but they complied.
Renesme walked away from them and covered herself in her Aura, a blood-colored ring appeared on her ring finger of the right hand. It looked simple, but there were some ancient runes on it that were sparkling in a crimson light. She drew her hand to the bed, and soon the bed was covered in all the dresses she called out of her Blood-Ring.
“Open your eyes…” She asked them as soon as she withdrew her Blood-Ring.
Keira and Serafina gasped when their eyes caught the dresses on the bed. They were shocked, and they unbelievably looked at those dresses. It only took a moment before their eyes were sparkling with excitement. They had never seemed such pretty clothes before in their lives. The dresses were all elegant and exquisite. The material they were made of felt soft and vibrant.
The girls couldn’t contain themselves and excitedly checked out all the dresses. And their fascination with the designs grew more.
“They are beautiful!” Serafina commented. She loved the emerald dress. It was of her favorite color. There were dresses of several different colors and sizes, but most of them were in the sades of red and black. The designs varied, some were plain and elegant, some had frills and exquisiteness. However, there was one thing common in all of them. They did not reveal any skin. Just like the clothes Renemse wore.
Renesme sweetly smiled at their fascination with her clothes.
“You can choose one for yourself,” She offered them.
“You sure?” Serafina was fascinated with the emerald dress in her hand.
“Yes,” Renesme assured her.
“But they might not fit us?” Keira looked at the dresses and voiced her doubts. The clothes looked to be in the size of girls from 10 to 15 years of age. She could fit into one for the 15-year-old girl, but it wouldn’t be a perfect fit.
“They are all flexible and can be modified,” Renesme answered them and then picked up a dress for a 10-year-old girl. She turned it inside out and then worked on the stitches of it. The dress loosened up in size, and soon it was big enough for Keira to fit in perfectly. “I can loosen it some more, but yes, I don’t think they can be loosened enough to fit someone fat and someone who’s a little too tall for girls.”
Keira curiously accepted the dress Renesme had offered her. She inspected the stitches and found no threads binding them that her eyes could see. In her curiosity, she summoned her aura and concentrated her mind solely on her sense of sight. And she finally found what stitched the dress. There were thin threads of Aura that were binding it, and they were too thin to be observed by normal eyes. Even a Zeros would find it hard to catch them.
“I cannot answer you how they are made…” Renesme smiled and told her before she could voice her question.
She didn’t mind it and nodded her head. Her instincts told her that she must not ask the questions when her mind could not comprehend their answers. She wanted to know more about the material of the cloth as well, but she contained her curiosity.
“I will choose this one,” She smiled sweetly at her. “Thank you!”
“You’re welcome!” Renesme nodded to her.
Serafina had witnessed it all, and seeing that Keira had not raised any questions, she too kept silent and walked over to Renesme with the dress she was fascinated with.
“Can I take this one?” She asked expectantly.
“Of course!” Renesme giggled, and then took the dress from her hand. “Let me adjust the size for you.”
She worked on it just like she did with the dress she gave to Keira and then handed it to Serafina.
“Here…”
“Thank You!” Serafina hugged her excitedly and accepted the dress. She swung around with it in her hands and laughed excitedly.
“You love emerald color, don’t you?”
“It’s my favorite! And it matches my eyes as well.”
Renesme nodded her head in agreement.
“And Keira likes black?”
“It’s my favorite color. It’s Shazan’s favorite as well, but he likes Violet, and Red just as much as Black.” Keira nodded. “He can’t wear Violet suits… So he mostly wears black ones.” Keira laughed and told the girls.
“He doesn’t like the emerald color?” Serafina disappointedly asked.
“He likes it,” Keira nodded to her. “He told me that your eyes are exceptionally beautiful.”
Serafina blushed when she heard those words.
“So, which of these dresses have you chosen to wear at your wedding?” She asked to change the topic.
“This one…” Renesme picked up a wine-colored dress.
“That’s beautiful!” Keira and Serafina nodded to her. They were shocked to see how gorgeous it was.
The frills and embroidery on it were mesmerizing. It was a dress fit for the Princesses and had a charm to it that spoke of its regality.
“No wonder you don’t want to wear anything other than that…” Keira commented. “There’s nothing that could match it.”
“Thank you!” Renesme was happy that the girls liked her choice. “Oh.. He’s done with shower.” She reminded them.
The girls looked at each other and Keira hurriedly brought some paper bags out of the dressing room. She handed one to Serafina and rest of them to Renesme.
Sera carefully folded her emerald dress and put it inside the bag, and Keira did the same. When they were done, they found that Renesme hadn’t packed her dresses. And they remembered something…
“Alright… We will close our eyes,” Keira said and closed her eyes.
Serafina chuckled and did the same. When Renesme ask them to open their eyes, the dresses were gone.
“You are fast…” Keira couldn’t help but comment.
The girls were curious how Renesme could do all that in a blink of time, but then they remembered how she had taken life at the same speed, and their hearts trembled.
“What’s up with you girls?” Shazan commented as he walked out of the dressing room. He was in his trousers and a sweat-shirt. And he had forgotten to dry his hair. His eyes ran all over the room and then he looked at the girls for an answer. "Where are the dresses?” He asked.
“You eavesdropped on our conversations?” Serafina squinted her eyes and asked.
“Yes,” He nodded and didn’t seem to care about it.
“Well, the dresses are gone now. And you will have to wait to see them.” Keira smiled and walked over to him. “You are too lazy, aren’t you?” She asked and walked inside the dressing room. She returned with a towel in her hand. “Sit. I will dry them.”
“Umm… Can I do it?” Renesme asked with a smile.
Keira surprisedly looked at her, but then smiled and nodded to her.
“Sure.”
“Thank you!,” She said to her and then accepted the towel from her hand.
Renesme led Shazan to sit on the couch, and then she helped him dry his hair. She had a sweet smile on her lips and seemed to be liking what she was doing.
The scene warmed the hearts of the girls. It was a sheer display of her affection for him, and it was too sweet!
