Wet Blending, Thin Layering, Glazing and Color Interactions

Dear Craftworldians,

Welcome to a new Step by Step tutorial, featuring miniature from Titan Forge.

This tutorials will come in few detailed lessons, starting with painting of a Greenskin Body, Face and Muscles. This palette in different variations can be used to move the tonalities to more humanoid skintones as well.

Main idea behind this lesson is approach of painting with tonal mixes and glazes, without full underpainting. Instead, creating underpainting with your brushes, over each section that is being painted. This lesson also explains the layers built and overlapping as well as how to construct face and muscles, using geometrical idea in building volume contrasts.

We both hope you will enjoy and welcome to a February at our Patreon :)

Awesome, thanks so much for the detailed answer. I'm loving color theory and mixing, but I've been having issues with paint drying. I appreciate the information

Redgrass wet palette. For now are using v1 palettes xl and the smaller one. But we use membrane (sponge) of v2 version. And for the paper, we are using both regular and long lasting papers from redgrass. Depends on the mood. The long lasting is reusable so if painting the project longer, it is easier to use that one. Also it is more opaque, so the surface looks brighter. And it slowly hydrates paints, which is better as paints can last longer. :)

Thanks:)

What wet palette and paper do you use?
