First week of animation completed!

I started production on the new toon last week and things are going well so far! about 40 seconds are fully animated, which is way faster than usual. I have some more dificult shots coming up, so those might take longer, but as for now: We're shmooving.

Here's one of the less spoiler-heavy shots I animated. This time around my storyboards were way more on-model, so figuring out the key poses was fairly easy. It's always fun to see how the final animation differs from storyboards, but this time around I can't really say there's a massive difference. (aside from, y'know, being animated.)

You may also notice: His mouth isn't moving. Be not afraid, I usually do this after all the main character animation is done. The reason I still draw his mouth on every frame, despite the fact that I'll eventually have to replace it, is because it helps me tremendously to have a "neutral" mouth position in every frame. This helps the mouths stay consistent despite constantly bouncing up and down. I might actually make a tutorial on how I do lipsync for the $10 tier.

Updates will continue to be a little sporadic in the coming weeks. I think my time is best spent working on the cartoon, so I can get it out as soon as possible. I'll definitely have a lot of behind the scenes goodies after release though.
