Status Update - Content Update #4

The next update is progressing nicely, and I'm planning for the next release to be May 1st. All of the new content will be Patreon-exclusive.

The next update will include:

Definitely:

- 2 new endings for Julian

- 3 new endings for Sebastian

Probably:

- The first 'What If' story content for Sebastian's route! The title: What if Alexander had kidnapped Monika?

Hopefully:

- 1 CG for Julian (dependant on artist's schedule)

- One or more new backgrounds (dependent on artist's schedule)

On 'What If' Content:

'What If' content is essentially non-cannon side stories, typically with 1-3 endings.

If you want happy endings, 'What If' content is your best bet for the foreseeable future!

In one of Sebastian's new endings, this goes into more detail, but it's been mentioned that at one point, Alexander had considered kidnapping Monika when they were younger as a way to make his brother happy (and so he didn't have to listen to Sebastian's whining anymore).

This new story explores what might have happened if Alexander had executed that plan.

How To Get The Next Update:

This is the general plan for all updates (subject to change as needed).

Every time a content update is released (generally the first week of each month) I will post a password here on Patreon. This password will change every release.

The itch.io page will receive the content update just like all previous updates, but if you play to access the new content, the new choices will be disabled (with an indicator that they are Patreon-exclusive).

To unlock the new content, there will be a new button on the world selection screen. (I'll post detailed steps on release with screenshots.) You will click the button and input the password, and all the content will be unlocked for that release.

Each release will require a new, different password. Please do not share the password.

Why do it like this?

There are a few reasons.

1 - This is easier for me, because I will not have to manage multiple versions of the game. That means less overhead and less testing.

2 - This allows me to keep the demo updated with all back-end changes, which will be easier to maintain and make the game more stable for everyone.

3 - I can easily update the demo with things like new backgrounds and cgs for content that is already available in the demo.

4 - As the game develops, I can unlock older content for the demo if I choose to do so.

5 - It gives immediate visibility to new players that more content is available via Patreon.
