Hey there everybody.
I hope you are doing well and I am hoping you guys are ready for another week ahead.
I wanted to give you guys an update on the ward commission that I received.
Today is the day I have to box everything up and send it over to Greece where it will be used for commercial purposes. It was a very tough commission with an even tougher deadline.
At first, the deadline that I was given was around a week and 2 days, and afterward, once I accepted the offer, I was notified that I have until the 19th to finish it since it has to be shipped over to Greece.
Since I was offered the job on the 15th I naturally started on the 16th since I had to buy all the materials. I was not at all happy to hear that my deadline would be only 3 days for such a massive scale of a project.
I had some initial issues because the XPS that I am using is 10cm, so I had to buy tools to melt it because I ruined my hand trying to cut it manually and I was never going to have enough time to finish it. Unfortunately, the machine that I bought broke only 10 minutes after using it. I had to then run out again to buy another machine for the job. The latter worked perfectly and I was able to map out and cut all the parts in less than an hour, but the smell from the material was dreadful.
Fast forward one day and the next tough part came which was sanding everything down. This was especially hard because the material had a very rough surface to work with and my mouse sander only helped me get so far. Since the timeframe that was given to me was very short I had no time to apply primer to the base, as it would never dry out in time. I had to proceed with the paint directly onto the material.
Drying the paint out was a serious pain and I had to turn the AC on and make a sauna in my living room in order for the paint to dry.
I can't stress enough how happy I am and how close I am to sending these out. It was a stressful project, but I am proud that I was able to finish it in such a short amount of time, and all though I am not content with the final result, I think the wards look great.
All the content for this month will be released together, and at the end of the week I will have a special photoshoot with my photographer friend once more, so I really hope that you enjoyed the last one as there will be many more to come. So stay tuned and I am wishing you all a healthy week ahead.
xoxo
