July 15 UK Porn Ban
Added 2019-06-23 05:40:15 +0000 UTCHi guys, does anyone know anything about the UK porn ban in July. I'm trying to get everything done before it hits, but does anyone know a good work around because obviously I lose an entire business and worse still, three countries worth of followers.
I may drop the top tiers for a month or two and just go on votes, the problem is, I dont want people to be giving money and I cant do the job. That's not acceptable. I'm not saying for sure its gonna effect me the way I'm worrying, but any additional info would be greatly appreciated.
I'm about to become very poor indeed, but I still have my love of hentai and still have you guys.

Oh its monumentally stupid. No doubt about that, its moralizing in the worst way. But, like, I just want to reassure you things like HF or whatever, they aren't banned per se. Heres the thing, people are smart and they will find *many* ways around this block.

2019-06-23 12:01:57 +0000 UTCits a huge mistake anyway you cut it, i havent watched porn in a very long time, i see it more as an artistic tool more than anything now, but i hear tumbler has lost 3/4 of revinue, thats an amazing loss. and imagine its mostly teens watching porn anyway lol the whole system is gonna collapse under censorship

What HMGOV is trying to do is have a system where, if you declare yourself 18+, then you can look at all the porn you want. They haven't actually declared how they want this done, but porn isn't blocked per se, they just want it behind some sort of age verification. What this does mean, however, is that somewhere there will be a giant register of people who watch porn.... and the government would never be so incompetent with people's private data... oh wait.

I'm glad it's been delayed gives me some extra time, the problem my end is that I wont be able to publish my stuff anywhere but patreon, which means its a million times more difficult to get new fans. I suspect I've got a 30 follower limit as it is lol

There are also exclusions on the ban along the lines of if x% of content on site is porn then it will be classified as porn. What I will say is that I doubt patreon will be caught by the ban. I also suspect this attempt at a ban will be a monumental failure.
