Do we need billionaires?
Added 2023-03-23 18:53:43 +0000 UTCThis is an interesting piece criticizing Bill Gates' philanthropic endeavors, many of which caused a lot more harm than good. I feel like this is almost a taboo to say and anything other than puffery and praise of Bill Gates is dismissed with condescension.

Being able to amass a billion dollars points to how unequal society has become. The Gini coefficient (a measure of inequality with 0 being perfect equality and 1 meaning complete inequality) has been steadily increasing year on year and hovering around .84 (see source one). Don’t fall for his PR bs. He has even more political power on tap now on top of his corptocracy. Power with the biggest drug Companies. Trying to corner the Gaming market. And on and on. There was no mistake that the Mr Robot shows, modeled Microsoft as the company for the dystopian Evil Corp. This guy is no one to get wrong. He is not your friend. Im terribly skeptical myself.
