DECEMBER '20 WIP: Various Winter Doodles
Added 2020-12-05 17:54:20 +0000 UTCI haven't shared my progressworks for quite a while, so lets remedy that. I haven't really touched any more polished pieces, however, so I thought I'd offer you a glimpse at the earliest stage of my art process, which is "the noodly thumbnail that will haunt your nightmares till next Tuesday". (There's actually more than nine, but the rest take even me a few minutes to decipher.)
I'm not entirely sure why my choice of topic to progress this fall was "tiny thing interacts with bigger thing" and I'm sure Freud would have something to say to that were he alive and not constantly slipping, but... eh.
Since I came back to art on a more stable basis, I started doing these batch start pinboards that let me see how many things I progressed, how far and whether the composition is interesting (the sketch with Aymeric and Vedrfolnir changed a lot in this regard, because the original sideview, while much easier to draw, was boring and flat).
So yeah, these have been rattling about my skull between comicwork: Lucius & Flint, saint Keyhole, 2 stills from "keeping up with the Dravanians", Horizon fanart, quick self-fanservice of my favorite Arabian art collector, my XIV player party and a blast from the past that I wanted to illustrate for literal decade, but never felt brave enough for it. Oh, and some soggy pirates in a jollyboat, because there's never enough those.
(And if you noticed the illustrations leaning more FFXIV than GW2, you don't need to worry, I'm not leaving Tyria anytime soon, quite the opposite; it's just that story ideas I have for GW2 usually make it to comics rather than just "doodle this and be done with that plot thread").
