Old sketch log

Guild Wars added an option to replay some of its older content that was unavailable for 7 years, and I remembered that I actually made fanart of one of the characters at some point in the past. I went to search for it and found a bit of a hogspot of old sketches, most of which are unpublished. I had them printed out in a Sketchfiles minibook that I sold around conventions, but since that one is officially sold out for two years, I may as well post some of the more interesting pieces.

Mind you, these are all between 5 and 8 years old.

1. Rox, the charr ranger gladium from GW2. She used to be a really cool character and had an absolutely adorable spider abomination named Frostbite as a pet. Her LS1 and 2 appearance is one of my go-to examples when I list cool female characters who don't have to rely on the overused tough girl trope.

2. Originally sketched for ČeSFuR (themed "Woodstock", as you probably can guess), these two characters later evolved into a minor subplot in Semper Fidelis. One that I can't wait to tell, because I am a horrible softie when it comes to interspecies relationships in anthro art.

3. Speaking of, a random thought of a commonwealth meeting over a pint, which may, or may not, be inspired by a certain dynamic duo from a certain game series.

4. Lil' sabertooth hunter, because why not. Life was tough in the ice ages, so you better start hunting at an early age.

5. If I remember correctly, this was caused by one of my many, many overly-philosophical  sibling talks about the human animal and its nature when backed into a corner and/or forced to protect their young under dire circumstances. I think. Maybe I remember it wrong.

6. Old sketch of Liz & John from Borderline that I never finished.

7. Pretty sure this is what happened when I bingeplayed Assassin's Creed III and realized "Connor" means "lover of wolves".

8. Eskiwolf's character, Shadow, because there's very few things that are cooler than an overly protective magic-wielding canine-bird hybrid.

9. One of my many tests for anthro rabbits, as I was practicing for drawing SF's Rupert a lot. This one ended up on the Sketchfiles cover. Possibly slightly high on clovers, judging from that expression.

Comments

Most of them come from a time when I was stuck in traffic / various places for prolonged periods of time. So it was either attention to detail or being very cross at having nothing to do x)

One of these days when I'll start sketching again, I will do that follow up...

Your attention for detail is just mind-boggling, all of these are amazing! <3

Oh...yep, I remember that rabbit from the cover *looks at it* :D
