It was indeed Lena's aerial bombardment. In the previous episode, that Praying mantis Commander stated the group is 120km west of their former borders and west to Giad is the Republic of San Magnolia. The projectiles of the bombardemnt also look exactly the same as the ones Lena used the first time at the end of season 1 part 1 and as for how Shin could hear Lena through the Pararaid, you'll learn why in the final episode.
