(Jk) I’ve heard that the colors are symbolic of life and death, blue signifying life or death in certain contexts, and red signifying life or death in certain contexts. I’ve chosen to leave further interpretation in my subconscious mind

2024-12-17 06:10:34 +0000 UTCBased on my knowledge of other anime, butterflies are metaphors for the cycle of death and rebirth. Similarly, I think the dead butterfly is meant to show the cycle is broken, which is what the Legion does by having the 'ghosts' of people pilot the machines. So, I think the dead butterfly getting eaten by the ants literally looks like the Morpho getting swarmed by the 86, but is also symbolic of them destroying the Morpho body so that Kiri's soul is free to return to the natural cycle of life.
