2024-11-11 00:42:43 +0000 UTCI had a very similar reaction when I saw it. loved that perspective switch to Kenma’s pov and the way that was shot. Very unique, and very cool to see it from that way and when it all led up to the mistake that costed them the game I had the same reaction at first. I hadn’t even noticed the score so I didn’t realize the game was over at that point and when they said it was over I was so confused and felt like it was kind of anti climactic but after thinking about it I actually really liked the way they did it. Just like you mentioned, it was very different from how all the other games ended. It wasn’t super close, Karasuno won be a decent margin, it didn’t end with a crazy hype shot or animation or anything like that. But in the end it was different from the other games and felt a little more grounded and humble which I grew to really appreciate it the more I thought about it. It wasn’t hype like the others, but it was equally as good in its own way at least to me and reflecting on it and I appreciate how different it was. Especially because that final set was getting faster and faster, the animation started to go insane like you would expect for the finale of something epic with the back and forth, incredible plays and passion to then suddenly take a step back, switch to his pov, slow it down and end very human and real with just a simple mistake cause not all games have that crazy epic final second. It just felt very grounded and I liked it a lot the more I thought about it after. either way loved it and very excited for the next movie!! And as always, loved your reaction too!!
