I hated Tsukishima the first time I watched the show, and now that I’ve seen it 5+ times he’s the one I have a big soft spot for. I love characters who go from disinterested to hardworking

So it doesn't matter how much you try, you are still gonna come up short. So there's no point in putting "your soul" in to something just to come up short and be disappointment or "fail", as what happened to his brother in the flashback.
