But if it's something like "live" then it's a long effect. Naturally the person won't become immortal, but their mind tricks them to fight for their lives if they are in danger. Like the Geass cannot make others do supernatural things like fly, but their mind and body will do their best to follow the command. So you can see the live Geass on Suzaku as a slight doping/booster
