You can see Geto slowly losing his grip on reality throughout this episode quite masterfully. He feels alone because he is forced to eat and absorb cursed spirits to keep the ungrateful and ignorant masses alive. The water falling on him in the shower reminds him of the day he watched an entire room of people clap at the sight of a young girl's corpse. That sound is actually repeated this entire episode. He has major PTSD from it and its like that moment replays over and over. All he thinks about is the common, "useless" masses who curse others and cause misfortune, and clap when seeing a dead child. It is no wonder he snaps, honestly. You can see he does truly care about every at Jujutsu High, he is still a "good guy". I don't think people attribute enough blame to Gojo for Geto snapping either. Gojo would constantly ramble about how saving the weak was pointless, and the weak are useless. He even tempts Geto in the room with the clapping masses to kill them all because he was riding the high of cursed energy and "wouldn't feel a thing". Gojo was a really terrible influence on Geto's mind.

2023-08-12 02:08:59 +0000 UTCI feel the scene where Yuki is covered by the light while talking to Geto means he’s misunderstanding her, because to me what she was saying and what Geto ends up doing aren’t necessarily the same. Geto just uses her theories to justify his hatred in my mind.

2023-08-06 01:56:17 +0000 UTCI like how you point out shots like the one with the girl and Geto sitting and talking and her being blocked out in that one shot. I never notice stuff like that. You also pointed out in the last ep. I think when Gojo is holding Riko’s Bo day and him and Geto are on opposite/opposing sides. Also, it’s interesting he uses the word ‘monkey’ for non sorcerers. It’s the last thing Toji says to him after he sliced and diced him. Basically to remember that he and Gojo got beat by a ‘monkey’ with no cursed technique like they have.

2023-08-05 21:12:28 +0000 UTCThe "switch" you are talking about happened duo to Geto seeing the despicable way the villagers in the village were treating those two girls duo to them having cursed energy (jujutsu powers). And the villagers kept thinking all of the damage and killings that was being done in the village by curses were actually the girls "mysterious powers" that was doing it. Even though the girls were trying to tell the truth since they can see the curses they kept getting beaten and noone listened to them. You even hear Geto thinking while they are rambling in the background as they are accusing the girls him saying like "no it wasn't them", "No I already dealt with the issue" (In other words killed the curses that was the actual cause of the killings). And so the talk earlier with the girl about how it's ordinary humans who is infact the cause of all the curses to begin with, and seeing those two children getting treated as badly as they were, while the real cause of the curses manifesting are those same people who are beating the children. That along with seeing more and more jujutsu sorcerers/friends getting killed trying to defend those normal people and how jujutsu sorcerers gets shunned and mistreated made him realize how disgusting normal people are, and how they are the problem. Without them there would be no more curses and therefore no more people have to die trying to defend/defeat curses and no more kids like those two have to be repressed ever again. So his cause although maybe twisted (depending from which angle you look at it) is also very noble. He wants to end the suffering basically
