Focus on the story Joey 😂 Coil is one of L's persona's, and Aiber (blond convict guy L hired) is actually the person who is playing as Coil. Plus, when the guy in the Yotsuba group was freaking out and wanted out of the meetings, one of the guys said "I think you will end up dead tomorrow." That is why there are only 7 at the end, rather than 8. One showed weakness to his resolve of working with Kira, so they got rid of him.
