Nobody said it here, but in Japan it's quite common for people to go outings "dates" outside of a romantic context. Rare line that could have benefited from localization.

2022-12-10 16:47:14 +0000 UTCFiller means anything that deviates from the source material or is irrelevant to the actual plot, like anything not included in the manga, or would be "anime only"......unfortunately most people use it as a term to describe the things they find boring in the show lol My hero has very little filler, there's other anime where it's atrocious though......like naruto/bleach, but sometimes real filler can still be enjoyable, it's a matter of preference really

In Japan, virtually all schools hold school festivals during late October or early November, so Mirio has already had his birthday. Also, Mirio is in his 3rd year of school, which means he’s already 18 when Mirio, Deku and Eri are in the hospital. Therefore, an 18 year old wants to take a 6 year old on a date 💀
