Community Update: Finishing Touches. - July 26, 2024

Hey everyone, and here we have our regular (roughly biweekly community update - despite my prior 1 a month proclmation there is always lots to talk about)!

As you've already seen we've hit a lot of geography this summer already, jumping from Korea, to Edmonton, Toronto (for the first livestream in a long time), Portland and Rome (a city that has needed an RMTransit video for a very long time)! Coming up in the next month will be a return to Boston (for a "Battle" that I think is pretty interesting), the long awaited (seriously years in the making) Rhine Ruhr Explainer, and a video on Philly (which just placed an order for some very nice looking new metro trains from Hitachi).

I also hope to do another livestream sometime in August (figured I would do some over the summer!). Towards the end of the month we will start transitioning into the videos I have been compiling for months and months, so if you haven't watched them yet, watch them while they are still "early"!

Thanks for everything,
Reece

Adelaide really is far behind the other major Australian cities on PT :/

In Adelaide, the tram from the city to a suburban called Glenelg is going to do a makeover by putting some overpasses to reduce waits from all of the level crossings. It did say that the project is going to be about 6 months, I think it’s going to be more than 6 months to complete the project. I’m hoping that Adelaide Metro will replace them with lots of buses going along Anzac Hwy. It’s like in metro Vancouver where if SkyTrain fails, a bridge bus is replaced, but again Adelaide is NOT the best choice for public transit. They have buses run every hour every weekends and trains every 30 minutes on weekends. Sad.
