The night wrapped around me like silk β soft, cool, and full of secrets.
The pool shimmered beneath the stars, a perfect mirror to the sky. Lanterns swayed gently in the evening breeze, casting golden rings of light across the waterβs surface. I stepped out onto the stone patio barefoot, the hem of my robe trailing behind me.
He was already in the pool, arms stretched along the edge, head tilted back to look at the stars β so relaxed, so still. I smiled. Not just at the sight of him, but at the knowing. At what was coming next.
I slipped the robe from my shoulders and let it fall. The air kissed my skin, sending a ripple through me as I lowered myself into the water, the heat enveloping me like a secret only we shared.
He turned to look at me β slow, deliberate β as if he could already feel the shift in the air.
I swam to him without a word. Our bodies met in the middle, water gliding between us as his hands found my waist and mine curled around the back of his neck.
Our kiss was slow. Lingering. My legs wrapped around him, weightless in the water, held only by him β and the quiet pull between us that had been growing for days.
We moved with the rhythm of the water. Gentle. Deep. Unhurried. The ripples lapped against the sides of the pool, echoing our breath, our sighs, the quiet moans that slipped from me as his hands wandered lower.
Stars turned slowly overhead. Time dissolved.
Every touch was amplified by the cool air, the warm water, the thrill of being just outside β just hidden enough to forget the world. My fingers dug into his shoulders as I pressed closer, as his mouth explored the slope of my neck, my collarbone, my jaw.
When it was over, we stayed tangled together in the water, our foreheads touching, hearts still racing beneath the surface.
And as the lanterns flickered and the breeze swept over our skin, I whispered, βLetβs stay like this.β
He smiled, and I knew heβd understood exactly what I meant.
