I sat near the edge of the stream, barefoot, legs tucked under me, cloak spread across the moss like a makeshift blanket. The sun filtered through the canopy in soft green-gold shards, catching in my white hair and warming the tips of my ears.
He was behind me.
Close enough to feel, even if I didnβt look.
βYou always find the most peaceful places,β he said, his voice low, as though afraid to disturb the stillness.
I glanced back, lips tugging into a small smile. βMaybe I just bring peace with me.β
He knelt beside me, and for a moment, we simply listened β to the water, to the trees, to the quiet rhythm of our breathing syncing without effort.

The moss beneath us, the trees above us, the hush of the wild β they all felt like witnesses. Like the world itself was holding its breath while we slowly unraveled each other.

Every movement was reverent.
Every sigh earned.
We didnβt speak again until we lay tangled in each other, heartbeat to heartbeat, the forest still cradling us in dappled sunlight.
βI see you,β he murmured into my hair.
And for once, I didnβt feel like a wolf.
