Keeping in mind that this is a member of BTS we are talking about, there is no way it is that straight forward. Theories aside, because I'm not good with those, I can't tell you how many times I've gone out to 'have a good night' and escape my reality, only to end up in the bathroom staring at myself in the mirror asking myself what the hell I am doing. At that point, I have to chose whether to give up and leave or continue behaviors that aren't exactly what I would be happy with the next day. It's just so relatable.

The "she" he is referring to isn't necessarily about a love interest but possibly represents Jimin's Anima. Armies shared that the girl has a important meaning withim the music video, has a deeper meaning...Many believe that rather than just a person in the MV but actually meant to be Jimin's reflection, and this reflection is meant to embody the conflict Jimin's has between his masculine and feminine sides, while Jimin has always gained attention for breaking gender norms and being himself ... and dirt on his hand ? Perhaps showing us his real him/ letting go of his image?... I don't know Jimin is very smart... tell me you teory...

2023-03-24 23:31:34 +0000 UTCAt the beginning of the mv, jimin is smiling while being carried by people but the lyrics say "Did i come too far to find me you used to know? Yeah I know." like he’s doubting himself. And the scene reminds me of the last part of Set me Free mv when he was carried by dancers. I think in this mv, he tries to be drunk with alcohols, loud music, and flashy lights to keep himself in a state of dream and melancholy. But in the next scene, he tries to get out of the club but people get in his way so he can’t escape. Then, after a girl appears in front of Jimin, he looks AWAKE and starts to sing to the camera or himself in mirror. I think the girl is a symbol that can awakens Jimin out of his dream. But, In the end, he can’t reach the girl and fails to wake up from his dream and the mv ends with his gaze mixed with dancing people. He did a great job with his acting!

2023-03-24 20:08:38 +0000 UTCOh wow, I find it so interesting how people can interpret the same thing so differently! I did not find this song to be particularly sexy. I mean, of course Jimin is sexy, but I found the song to be almost full of melancholy. This interpretation could have been influenced by him saying this song was inspired by the movie Like Crazy which I haven’t seen, but the trailer doesn’t give high hopes for a happy ending, and while the lyrics can be seen as sexy on a surface level, the look on his face and the whole vibe of the m/v and production of the song make it feel (to me) like when people use sex as an escape from reality or a shield from having emotional connection. I agree with Kanisha’s comment on the girl and the mud. In the scene in the bathroom he looks like he’s grappling with himself which is a recurring theme in Jimin’s solo music. I think Jimin has continued Map of the Soul’s exploration of the Jungian shadow within his album which can be seen also by his use of the same auto tune effect Suga used in his interlude shadow to talk to himself in set me free pt 2 and by using the same director for it. Jimin is an artistic soul and he attracts other artistic minds who all interpret his work through their own lenses which I just love and find so fascinating 💜

DT if you're wondering why Jimin's hand is covered in mud at the end there was an ARMY on insta who explained it very well. So at the beginning of the MV we see a girl with mud on her hand grab Jimin and pull him into the club scene. and throughout the MV it looks like he's avoiding her. The girl represents his reflection and Jimin with the dirty hand at the end is him accepting his other half and coming to terms with himself as a person. He accepts the light and dark sides of himself and its beautiful to see him unleaseshed now

I agree lol he went totally raw on this one and I think you'll actually be able to understand the song/lyrics along with the mv more when you listen to the whole album chronologically. Jimin said in a weverse interview that he specifcally made these songs in order of the feelings he went through during the pandemic so if you look at the songs, it really shows the genius side of him lol. With Like Crazy I think its specifcally talking about how he was trying to distract himself from the loneliness and feelings of dispair he was feeling not being able to see his loved ones or even army during 2020-2021. He sort of trapped himself in a dream, per say and didn't want to be saved/woken up because he was afraid of what he might have to face. So, like the lyrics, he'd rather be "lost in the lights," and losing his mind than actually feeling his emotions. It fits well that Set me free pt.2 is after this! In that song, he finally was determined to get himself back up and face those feelings he had been avoiding all that time. (also fun fact! he said that the idea for like crazy and the concept was inspired by one of his favorite movies: "like crazy") lol i've never seen it but im definitley gonna watch for jimin

His album is a masterpiece. You should listen to it in the order it was arranged in the album. He is telling a story.

Letter is soooo beautiful with his angel voice and with the lyrics that he write, I can't even put my words together after listen to this song. It quickly become my NO.1 song from FACE album. I guarantee you will feel full of happiness after listen to Letter! ps. Jung Kook is the background vocal.
