Really great interview/conversation. You can tell that RM really needed someone to talk this through with and it's great that he could do this with Pharrell since he's a senior in the business. I think it's a bit similar with Jin and Chris from Coldplay. Needing someone outside of the group who's been in the industry longer than them to help them with their perspectives on themselves and their career in the industry.

I highly suggest listening to the podcast and reading the article too, they're from the same interview but each have different bits that are not included in the others. Apparently Pharrell is working on his next project and BTS is on his upcoming album. And he offered to be a part of Namjoon's solo project if he still needs/wants that for the remaining 10% that he has to work on. So no RMxPharrell music confirmed, but definitely we will have BTSxPharrell

I hope their new friendship grows over time because they will learn a lot from each other. Their vibe with each other was palpable and I was so excited to witness it. I can't wait to see what their collab produces.

2022-11-02 03:40:49 +0000 UTCI agree that this was a very introspective and eye opening interview for RM with someone who could give him feedback based on experience and age, and it was enthralling to listen to the two of them exchanging thoughts and ideas and just to learn more about each other. No doubt the pressures RM has been under was enough to truly weigh heavily on him-as he stated, "What am I, a diplomat?" when in truth they all are young men, musicians & dancers who want to hone their craft (and have done) and yet this "train" they've been on has perhaps derailed a bit with their vast popularity-and the company and country putting expectations on their shoulders that they didn't ask for nor expect. They have risen to the occasion, but at what cost, you know? I think that is what RM has been searching to find the answer to and I am so glad this time has hopefully helped him take that step back. His solo album will be so anxiously anticipated, but I also can't help but think his (and the other members) upcoming enlistment in the military will also give him two years to further examine and explore life away from the responsibilities that are "being BTS." It will give them all growth and totally new experiences, and I know we all hope & pray that once their military commitment is met, they WILL still be "brothers," and want to return as a group-refreshed, with new ideas/inspiration, and have the desire to continue doing what they love and excel at. This was truly an insightful interview and I agree with you DT, I think Pharrell will be a huge influence and source of support for RM, and let's hope they will (or are) collaborating on something-it would be epic, I have to think! Thank you so much for this reaction.
