Exactly. They were just trying to quickly brighten up the mood for each other, and still trying to find grateful things to move forward. They've been always like that. Trying to stay positive and still appreciate things in ugly situations. I've seen them do that so many times. They do show honest reaction right at that moment, but then instantly switch to persuading themselves to a positive direction. That's literally their work ethic and how they stay humble to this day. I don't think it's about the camera or being self-conscious. I think it's closer to positive affirmation/self-hypnosis. It's for themselves & each other. They used to somehow squeeze their driving force out no matter how the situation is poor. They never stay demoralized for long. It's their way of dealing with difficulties and just keeping going in any situation. I think they'd have broken down a long time ago if all that was "pretending" and just bc of the public eye. You gotta keep in mind that they have extraordinary tenacity and resilience than normal ppl. Think about how many hardships they've gone through. I'm pretty sure that has predisposed them to this kind of inclination. They tend to try to pick themselves up real quick from pain, sometimes overly. It's definitely not an ordinary mentality. Well It'd be impossible to claw all the way to the top with just ordinary guts (especially BTS lol they had so many obstacles) so yeah, I bet :P

2022-10-25 15:16:11 +0000 UTCi dont necessarily think they are trying to put on a face because people are "watching", they have always been honest with us and showed us their true feelings. I rather like to think of it as them obviously being upset but trying to think of the positive side of things, being grateful/humble they performed AND were nominated as the first Korean act. BTS have constantly shown us all sides of them, i dont see why their would be a reason for them to mask their true feelings.

There are huge acts like queen that never won a single grammy in their entire career despite being nominated multiple times. Let’s be honest, the grammys are a big deal but at the end of the day, it’s a bunch of old people deciding wether they want to give that act an award or not. BTS has the right to expect to win and be disappointed when they don’t win but it’s really not the end of the world. They will keep trying like many other huge artists kept trying till they won. Also keep in mind, that they only got nominated because the songs are english, they wouldn’t nominate non English songs no matter how big bts are and this is reality that everyone needs to see. When army say that the grammys are irrelevant what they mean is that a bunch of old people deciding wether the biggest group in the world deserves an award or not is irrelevant to BTS’s success. I am 100% sure BTS want to win but that doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world if they didn’t. As i said many big acts didn’t win and many big acts had to be nominated and lose multiple times for them to win. Also there’s a big chance they might be nominated for the 3rd time this year with “My universe” with coldplay.

2022-10-24 22:27:02 +0000 UTCIt's interesting that you feel like they're masking their disappointment. 😄 To me it looks like their way of coping with the disappointment - sigh it out and then hug it out and try to console each other. Like they're pretty open with being disappointed so it doesn't feel like they're trying to hide it. But yeah whatever the case, they were definitely nervous and then disappointed, they 100% would've deserved that award! When it comes to the whole preparing for a winning moment, I think they would've had to prepare for that whether or not they thought they'd win. Because they can't just improvise a speech in English and if they won, they would be filmed. But I'm sure they saw a real chance of winning since Dynamite was HUGE, so I'm sure that made the result that much more disappointing. Grammys don't deserve them. ARMYs don't like the show for obvious reasons but we all know BTS wants that award because it would mean acknowledgement from their industry peers, maybe getting out of the "alien" zone like said by RM. So we're always rooting for them and hoping for that Grammy 💜 Thank you for the reaction! 😄

But they obviously really wanted to win and hoped to win and were very disappointed when they didn’t. Now in 2022 I think they expected to win (like we all did) which is why it hit them harder.
