Should I react to Weekly Idol - Episode 517??

Yes 👌 I watched this many times. It’s very funny and the guys think Jiminah is very cute. Jiminah is very cute in this show. All the boys. I love to see them dancing to the random dance

It's all up to you but just to give you an idea, they were guests in the show 3 times...I forgot which episode but the very first one they did was the most awkward, just like what the others already mentioned that its maybe coz they were still very new. I watched all of them so you can clearly see the difference in the treatment, the latest episode was the one you saw where Jimin was wearing stripes and this was the best one since they're more comfortable and known by this time. Overall I strongly suggest you react to ALL the shows that they've guested in because they're 100% gems (except the one with JK and burgers).

Tamara, when I lived in Korea I watched a Korean drama. It was a period piece. I don’t speak Korean, but I got the gist of it. It was on a local channel. I would have to second your suggestion. I know they have Korean dramas on Rakuten Viki.

Hii, actually I would recommend you to watch some Korean dramas and you can react to them if you want. If you're interested, here are some good ones in my opinion: Bridal Mask, Mouse, My Country: The New Age (historical drama), Flower of Evil, Beyond Evil (slow paced drama), Signal, Defendant, Doctor Prisoner, Two Weeks. Those are mostly crime dramas. Here are some romantic comedies: She was pretty, Kill me Heal me, Love in the Moonlight, Crash landing on you, Catch the subway ghost. There are many more good ones but this is enough to overwhelm you lol. If you decide to watch a few, I can't guarantee you'll like all of them because people are different, but you'll definitely like some :)

To be very honest, i would suggest you watch it regardless, because it still gives you an insight on loads of things during that time in bts' career. You should also watch the Knowing Bros (this one isn't cringey, dont worry).

Yes, I agree with and knew that absolutely. To say roughly, this is one of the shows which basically would promote the new, younger or unpopular yet idols. Indeed, we'd see or find out many points on both BANGTAN and the MC, too, which might make us feel uncomfortable in many reasons NOW. As the show is old and their compliances are also bit tight or some old type that we have already threw out or get over. And still now, their country culture has been derived a lot from Confucianism as you already may know. However, I bet you, DT, that you will see so many "first" things about all members, watching all through this show, and it is so interesting, fun or probably hilarious for you to see/ know their talents as ever, the way of how they actually were trying so hard to show themselves so as people would remember them in the era of their beginning anyway. Not only Jimin Pen, DT, but also other Pens. Do you know most of them really liked to have the Korean beef at that time, don't you, DT? OK, then I would recommend you to see it, #299! Yeah!

It happened to all idols.. The show is usually filmed for 2 or 3 hrs but many parts are edited because allocated broadcast time is less than an hour. It is true that all kpop idol fans have criticized how the show cut out some members part. Even though it is not the hosts' fault, they apologized to idols several times for the editting .

I think it’s also because they would have all of them do certain segments and would only air half of the members or “the ones who seemed more interesting/entertaining” Now I don’t know if they did the same with other idols or if it only happened to bts, So I don’t really have a say in this. Like you said it’s all up to him if he wants to watch (:

honestly you should react to their knowing bros episode it so much better. it was one of the first korean variety shows they did in years so it was really good

I understand who felt BTS was mistreated because of popularity but that’s not the case.. It is just the style of the hosts. Their concept is mischievous and bad boy. Their joke style might be uncomfortable but they don’t truly mistreat idols because they are NOT famous. I watched the show even before BTS debuted and They do the same with super famous idols like Bigbang, Girl’s generation, and IU. They are one of the most beloved show hosts by Korean fans and idols for years because they sincerely support every cast and respect idol culture. But I also respect others’ opinion and get the point where they feel uncomfortable. It’s all up to you DT whether to watch the show or not.

As for me, I'd like to try to see all shows related with BANGTAN as much as I can cuz I think it would accept what BANGTAN, all the boys themselves, is if I see all, and pretty hard for me to deny them in watching some parts of how they were or did only because of the difference of the Culture. I am not saying and don't want to push no one to get to like all of them at all. It is natural and happens always that someone feels uncomfortable when seeing some any creeds, beliefs or cultural way of acts they have, including the MC, which are against yours. It's absolutely OK if you'd say "I like this and that part of them", of course. I only think I feel so nice to take BANGTAN's idea, a sort of, like no boundaries on anything in this world, which even they have been trying. I am from Japanese, and have totally our different culture, creeds, and way of thinking though our island country is very close to Korea. And sometimes many of us, Japanese ARMY, also get so surprised at or misunderstand what their way of thinking is, due to not knowing very much about Korean culture, even after yrs, in learning their background as the history, religious ideal or sense in common and so on. So, again, as foe me, I'd not avoid to see any related with or about them, no judgement, for the first anyway. Shortly, it is up to you, DT! And I'd say- yes, I guess you'd enjoy to watch the ep 517 which includes many of young Jimin, too, so. I also thought it nice too, to see the other comment above, by Sonya, thank you! I also will enjoy still even if you would react and say that you don't get it and feel uncomfortable in watching it. And it is free and just fine, no matter what the viewers would love or hate the ep., of course, as just my idea. Well, I am so glad to see every, each time that you, DT, ask us even a bit, tiny thing. I love here, this space with everyone and you, DT!!! I wish you could react to the "Weekley Idol" show with BTS...even tho was a very polemical episode I will like to see your opinion and toughts about it...also like other people mentioned the Yang Nam Show it is a very good choice to react to , it was hilarious and the guys had a lot of fun with the hosts on that one...is up to you DT.

DT - that link you have in the description for the ep 517 actually contains ep 229 as well. Ep 229 is in the second half of the video (where Jimin has orange hair). It would be nice if you reacted to both eps, but you may also start the reaction from the start of the second half if you wanna skip the cringy stuff.☺

Honestly, the boys were always mistreated when they were 'not popular'. I still cannot rewatch American Hustle Life with all the mean words and physical actions done to them without feeling heartbroken. But yes, do react to Weekly Idol or any variety shows. Because we watch it to love and support our Bangtannies, not for anything else 💜

BTS never went on a lot of variety shows because they generally weren’t invited often, and the ones they WERE invited to treated them very weirdly. Like Jk and the burgers and like the two hosts on this show.
