Yes, if I add some tmi, the collection system depends on where you live. For regular waste and food waste, newer cities usually have a system of underground pipelines that suck the rubbish from the special communal bins at each apartment to the collection site, kind of like the old bank/post office suction pipe thing. You have to purchase special regulatory(?) rubbish bags specific to each city which are in different categories and sizes for food waste, regular waste etc. and also for household use or for businesses etc. Recycling is collected separately. Korea is kind of heavy on over-packaging products and delivery food packaging though, it's kind of a problem.

This area, Gapyeong/Chuncheon gets really cold during autumn and winter. When I lived there it would sometimes drop as low as -20 C. It just doesn't snow as much as Toronto, instead it's very icy.

An interesting fact is that South Korea has a highly organised waste management system known as jongnyangje. Food waste, recyclables, non-recyclables and large objects are disposed of separately. I’ve heard that you can get charged for how much food waste you produce but I don’t know too much on the topic. When I visited last year for the speak yourself final concert, I stayed at an airbnb which required you to take care of all your garbage/recycling. When I went to throw my stuff out, a local took it for me most likely because I would’ve screwed up. Another reason why the streets are so clean is because there are no garbage cans anywhere so you have to keep your trash with you until you get home.

It’s also worth mentioning that it is now being said that because of BTS and Jimin especially Ramen imports to America have been on a rise. They are seen eating a lot of ramen and in this show brands have been noticed, causing a lot of Americans to check out what BTS is eating. Myself included!

Ahh Jjapaguri is sooooo good. I watched Parasite when it first came out and saw the jiapguri portion, then everyone was on YouTube trying it and recipes were everywhere. I never took the plunge to try and make it until I saw this very episode of In The Soop. It’s made by mixing neoguri (spicy seafood ramen) and chapagetti (which is black bean noodles or Jajangmyeon as you might have seen in other videos they talk about food) and also some steak. I have to order the ingredients off Amazon in order to make it but it’s now a staple in my house. Definitely recommend!

- Soop is Korean for forest - since the boys DO make a lot of food while there, it was probably written in English intentionally to mean both forest and soup - the picture of Jimin on the wall in the BigHit office has a RunBTS story behind it - you'll see it when you get to those episodes - Korea is one of the more mountainous countries, so a favorite hobby of many Koreans is hiking - you'll see everyone, from little kids to ancient old people, all zipping up and down mountains all the time - Koreans also have a special connection with nature, and often take special trips to see flowers at a certain spot when the weather is nice, or fall foliage when they hit their color change at JUST the right moment, or just to get out and take a break from the bustle of Seoul for healing trips in the mountains - you can get hanboks in the US, but, if you ever go to Korea, there are rental shops that allow tourists to rent hanboks for the day, and some places in Korea that allow you free entry for wearing a hanbok - Korea is known for its perfect weather - spring is all about warm wet weather and chilly evenings, summer is known for being hot and humid, fall is known for being chilly and windy, winter is known for being snowy and cold - everything you'd expect out of a stereotypical season, Korea has

It was shot in the spring of this year that's why it was kind of warm during the day, but it gets pretty chilly at night as you'll see them wearing padded jackets at night when eating dinner outside. The climate in Korea is very similar to the east coast of the U.S, with distinct four seasons.

My suggestion is to do Behind The Scenes in a separate video. It can be uploaded a day after, or just later. Since In The Soop is slightly over an hour, your back might be stiff from sitting on the chair =) Take a break before watching the Behind cut! Take care!

I think you'd look good in Hanbok😁 There are Hanbok rentals near the Gyeongbokgung Palace (where they performed IDOL for Jimmy Fallon) and if you wear it, you get in for free😁 It's about ₩15,000 for 4hrs $14USD

I lived in that region during my first two years in Korea so I was surprised when I saw BTS going there. It's Gapyeong/Chuncheon area. It's popular among local tourists because it has private pensions people rent with friends on days-off during spring and summer (or for MT aka membership training), Petit France (a recreational village that looks like Southern France?), a rail park, bungee jumping, Morning of the Garden calm (which hosts a beautiful annual christmas illumination festival), as well Jade Park and Nami Island (which attract a lot of Asian tourists since they were featured in old k-dramas and is beautiful in Autumn). Many people from Seoul and other big cities go to Chuncheon area to do biking and hiking on the weekends. I lived in Chuncheon ( in the modern city part). I now live in Incheon city (which is similar to Seoul including its gray polluted skies but with extra cigarette buds littered everywhere). I miss the blue skies, fresh air, mountaineous background and biking trails of Chuncheon 😭

This series is a little different from Bon Voyage. It was set-up as a means of having a Bon Voyage on Korean soil, since traveling out of the country during the pandemic was uncertain when all of this was being planned. It was great to see the wonderful oasis retreat the boys got to enjoy. Although BV4 is still my ultimate favourite, In The SOOP is a close second for many reasons. The guys were given a lot of choice about what they wanted to do, and they could relax more because there were no locations & activities they had to travel to in order to make the show more appealing for ARMY. The 'In The SOOP' production team gave the members the first real opportunity to enjoy relaxing and enjoying time together without having to do pre-planned activities organized by staff, and being on super tight schedules like in BV1-4. The guys were even given the choice to skip breakfast, so the night owls could enjoy morning sleep-ins. With the motion sensor cameras inside the houses, the amount of on-site staff was greatly reduced. I believe they only had a few camera crew for the outside drone video shots. This allowed the members to feel more relaxed, like they were on a real vacation. They were also allowed to drive themselves to all their destinations. The vibe is quite mellow at times, but I love seeing the boys have the chance to really enjoy their experience. Aside from the occasional product placement advertisement each member had to sneak in (Chilsung Cider), they were really given the opportunity to just BE..and how interesting is it that the upcoming album is titled BE! Things that make you go hmmmmmmm...Can't wait for episode 2! 💜

1. "soop" means forest 2. Jimin walking with his hands behind his back: The elderly here in Korea do this and it's called "뒷짐" which helps if you have back pain/posture problems. It stretches your back as you walk. Since Jimin is wearing a traditional hanbok that was worn in olden times, its a bit comical because it makes him look like an elder. 3. When JK made the ramyeon, he mixed 2 brands to make a new flavor. Chapghetti (jajangmyun flavor) + Neoguri (spicy). It's a really popular mixture here and Korea.

I was able to watch the entire video and just finished. I hope it gets figured out for the rest of you. They are only there for a week and they have to leave after three days to go do work and then they return for the remainder of the days. I hope you're able to watch the behind the scenes. They're about 20 minutes each. I think between having the tour cancelled, them feeling down about it, and knowing they probably wouldn't be filming a Bon Voyage, this worked out perfectly. They all remarked on how nice it was to be living together again and sharing meals which they do less of now that they're in their own places. I'm so happy they were able to do this. I think it really helped lift their moods and they don't get much time to just relax.
