In a lecture, Bang PD himself said that when he was putting BTS together he never imagined that they would end up having such great synergy. He said that there was no formula or strategy that he employed to make them have good teamwork. I think that BTS themselves figured out that they needed to be on the same page if they wanted to survive as a team in the idol industry and they have said that Bang PD, as well as RM, did instill the notion of "team" into them.

I disagree with you on "BTS doing Run eps and Bon Voyage was planned by BH to specifically help them develop close friendships with each other." 1) There are around 100 eps of RUN BTS from over 5 years, so about 20 eps a year, and 2) They film BV in a week. Other than that, they spend the majority of their time together because they live and work together. Also, those reality shows didn't start till 2015/2016 and they were already super close before. They lived together for 5 years already before they started the shows. It's kind of weird to credit BigHit for their close bonds as friends in my opinion.

Can't agree with you more. :) They've said that even themselves think it's really fascinating how they became this close and to have this strong bond. They literally explained it as "destiny." Suga and J-hope both say "I think it's destiny (that we meet each other)" in the future episode. Suga explains the why : "Even if i CHOSE the members, it wouldn't turn out this well", which means they were teamed up by Mr.Bang not knowing anything, but it was basically the best choice like destiny. And J-hope explains the why : "I don't think it's simply because we spent long time with each other. I really think it's destiny." I really agree with J-hope's words. Time is just one of the factor, not omnipotent. Other idols also spends long time together, but not they all become like BTS. I've watched many other groups, and yes, they are also very close each other. But BTS have just different level of closeness. Other idols are like close friends. But BTS are not even friends, but a family. Or even more than family. I'm not being dramatic. They actually say things like "I can't live without the members" or "They may be closer than my own family." Their relationship is something I've never seen anywhere. Their bond is really something that can only be explained by the word "Destiny." Like the lyrics in DNA, they are like destined to meet each other.

I love watching the documentaries with you the most, DT. You always have such insightful comments and questions. Wow, it is so hard to sum up BTS in a couple words but the first one that comes to me is hope. They show the power of having hope for the future and hope in humanity. Another word is unifying. In a world so polarized where it seems everyone is living so inwardly, BTS has the capacity to unite across differences that would ordinarily divide and isolate people. That unity is expressed in ARMY. And this brings me to the last word, extraordinary. So much can be said about what makes them extraordinary, but for me it is that they show the influence that "ordinary" people can have, changing lives and therefore changing the world.

I don't think their closeness is a test from being groomed by bighit... they were close before filming variety shows that started in 2015. Sure it probably helps, but I think it's all the years of performing and suffering through trials together that brought them close. Also they all happen to be good people that became open to learning from each other. It seems a bit insulting to presume their teamwork and closeness were planned by bighit. I'm sure no one in the company predicted they would become so close; it's not usual for any group of people

You might be right but It's really not about ship stuff I genuinely want to see and hear his opinion about their deep friendship! From what I've seen in his videos he really appreciate their relationship! I know RM is articulate in Japanese but I also remember in one of their concerts in Japan, Jimin gained attention bc he spoke his ending message in fluent Japanese without even looking at the script prompter. Not even once. His Japanese was so natural that the audience laughed at his jokes. There was also a time when only Jimin and Hobi were sent to Japan to do some promotional work. I honestly cant remember what could be the main reason for that but I guess BH wouldnt be sending those two if they cant converse in Japanese well.

Hi had actually heard Jimin was the most fluent as well and he seems so comfortable speaking it in interviews. I remember them discussing it as a group but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. As an English teacher, fluency is a combination of things. I think most people think it's about knowing the words, pronunciation, etc. but that's just a part of it. I'm impressed with how well all of them do speaking it but then to sing it just blows me away.

DT I don’t know if you know this but out of the members Jimin is the most fluent in Japanese! When he was on stage in the Tokyo dome he was actually fully speaking in Japanese! I would love for you to watch a compilation video of Jimin speaking Japanese
