Every time I’m reminded of Jimin’s chronic muscle and back pain, I can see it in his dancing. He looks AMAZING as always but when you look at his movements, he stretched out all of his movements to the point where it LOOKS painful sometimes. But BTS choreographies are so fast that most times you don’t notice it. Jk was right, when you overstrain it looks beautiful, but YEARS of doing it over and over can lead to damage.

I forgot to include that these guys are special - with confidence in their feeling for one another. They are really a family. They display qualities we all should emulate - and we can - we need to change our minds and hearts. Practice being kind and loving even when it’s difficult or when we get hurt.

Thank you, Rachel Worthington for your comments about the BTS staff - just like ARMY the BTS staff love and support the BTS men. Watching how the staff work so hard for their shining stars “BTS” is very heartwarming. I remember seeing a short clip of a “manager” become emotional when JK thanked them during an acceptance speech. You can tell that he was touched by the recognition of their support for BTS.

If you told my teenage self I would be head over heels for a boyband I would have rolled my eyes! I was never the one to follow the crowd and couldn't see the attraction of popular music. Then I fell in love with the Korean language and ended up in the Kdrama scene; so of course I kept seeing "BTS!". I rolled my eyes and dismissed the fervid BTS love. I had no clue that, ironically, BTS would be tailor made for me. I love when meaning has to be earned so their lyrics, with the layers and puns, wit, philosophy, allusions to art, literature, science, and social commentary just hit the sweet spot for me. Their vulnerability, sincerity, dedication, passion, and thoughtfulness are qualities I admire and want to emulate. Their chemistry and kindness and humor are characteristics that I seek. And while still tackling darkness, fear, depression, etc, the ultimate takeaway is hope, which is what we all need and so completely different from anything I could find in the pop culture of my country. And you can see their impact and influence in the people they touch. To all of this, add their undeniable talent and it is a no brainer as to why they are beloved. Just in sum, I agree with some of the other comments. I admire and respect them because they are who they are. There is something magical about these 7 together. They are perfectly imperfect and they cause me to want to be my best self. I do want to add that I am thankful for all the staff and people behind the scenes who also must put their heart and soul into this work.

For me personally and this is entirely my own opinion, they struck me as genuine people... yes, in the beginning with all the lights, glam and popularity, BTS pulls you in.. but it's hard to stay just a fan with them. Their sincerity shines even without trying. I mean we all grow up becoming fans of our favourite artistes and it always change once the hype dies down.. For me, I'm still in that zone where I'm constantly amazed with what they do. I respect and admire their dedication and craft. Beyond that, I do ask myself, it's so amazing that these boys come as genuine as they are, are so popular to the world, yet they are humble, kind and truly loves each other.
You know, you can follow an artist as a fan and eventually realise that you're no longer as fanatic as before. That is fine.. such is life as things do evolve after time. I'm not sure I will get over BTS anytime soon.. but for now, I'm glad they exists in my time and I'm grateful to be able to bask in all these moments with them.

i think they're special just because they're bts?? like, i can't explain it, but they are genuinely loveable people. they ARE special. im not saying others suck or less talented or less hardworking, but there's something special that only belongs to bts. it's kinda weird. it's a quality of sorts. so i think the only thing i can say, is that they're loved because they are BTS. they stand out, like the sun in the sky. there are about millions of skies obscured, that shine just as bright, but somehow when the sun is up, it's close enough that it looks like it shines brighter. it's a special kind of shine imo

They don't have a chance. I said that the Grammys are rigged because they are rigged, not because bts were rigged. Past grammy arrangers and people who have worked with it have said that the academy vote doesn't even matter because the same old people choose who wins anyway. Artists who have won Grammys and who have not won both often speak out on how useless the Grammys are and on top of that the Grammys are also very racist and xenophobic, and they don't like people who don't play they way the industry want's you to play. BTS are independent Korean artists who sing in korean and don't have the typical sound on top of Grammys seeing them as a trend and not serious artists, bts have very very low chances.

Well about The Grammy's, BTS have never said, they WANT IT. In 2016 suga mentioned - when they talked about goals - he wanted a nomination or just attend the grammy show. It is Army who has made it to Want a Grammy. And what Suga want Army will get him. Well it isn't a voting by fans awardshow. It's a lot harder. They haven't been rigged, because they have not been nominated yet. But they have attended twice. Last year they were not invited by the grammy, but was present because RM had made the remix of "old time road", and little Nas, who was nominated, asked them to come and perform it with him. BTS talked about that in the vlive after the show, and they talked about how difficult it was just to be nominated. Many army's are to impatient. I am sure bts will be nominated at the right time, because the grammy's love to have them. Perhaps next year where "on" and "Black Swan" have posibilities. But the coronasituation in US can stop everything!

To be perfectly frank and without wanting to offend you, it's starting to piss me off a little bit this question "Why BTS?", it's as if there are discriminatory innuendos.
Imagine being asked the question "Euh yes but why Mickael Jackson?", "Why Beyoncé?"... Well, you see, it's the same answer... They're the best in their field.
I'm a person who loves literature, I grew up having conditioned my ears to appreciate different kinds of music - American, European, Oriental, African, Asian, classical - and different genres, I love commitment and self-fulfillment... I grew up listening to Steevie Wonder, Elton John, Tracy Chapman, Charles Aznavour, Bee Gees, MJ, Beyoncé, Elvis Presley, Fayrouz, Abdelhalim Hafez, Youssou Ndour, Nina Simone, Metallica, Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Debussy, Chopin, Some Boysband and girlsband too... etc... Well I can tell you that BTS have nothing to be ashamed of, they have texts that have the same effect on me as when I read philosophical or scientific works (btw I'm a biologist) and that make me think, so varied and excellently composed instruments, and of course remarkable and unique scenic performances, the rest, their personalities, their relationships and their beauties why not, they are only finishes that are not to displease us (aren't they my Army friends?).
I read things like how you don't give other bands a chance... etc... well, I've even forced myself to see and listen others to be fair in my judgment, and I haven't found anything comparable. I also read stuff like BTS used social networks and have their own shows... bullshit... all the bands got into it after their success, did it change anything? no, even the jackson five had their own show... So what.
IT'S NOT ABOUT LUCK, GUYS. IT'S ABOUT TALENT AND ART.

I have no hope for Grammys, the only reason I want one for bts is honestly just because bts themselves want it. My respect for the Grammys is lower than my respect for nickelodeons teen choice awards, when they have been repeatedly exposed for being completely rigged and it's basically just a place for old music elitists to judge the modern music scene. I wouldn't even want bts to breath near that place, the Grammys need bts more than bts needs them and that was proven by the fact that their entire promotion for last years Grammys relied on using bts for clout.

Being a performer means to entertain an audience: but the word entertain is not a shallow word.
To entertain a person is to make him/her smile, feel content feel happy, warm, and fuzzy or surprised, amazed, and sometimes thirsty for more. I personally and I am sure many more love something that holds a piece of us or offers something we as characters want and desire into songs, movies, dances, etc.
Bangtan had managed to give us their whole: their pain, their work, their revolution, and being these transparent had made us look parts of ourselves on them, or give us a new taste that we sought.
It is not only the music that makes me love them even is they, BTS as human beings. They transform their characteristics into flavors and add them to their songs.
They are such excellent performers that they make the song, the dance a part of them, or use it to express a part of them.

It was the same muscle cramps that made Jimin sit out of the Wings Tour in Macau in 2017. For the Graham Norton Show, JK mentioned in the behind the scenes that because of his injury, Jimin had to work harder to make up for his absence and BTS agreed (but ofc no one was blaming JK since his injury happened by accident). It’s just sad cos we dont know when Jimin’s shoulder and back muscles will act up like that again :( Fans were worried bc this happened before the Amsterdam show which was also the day of his birthday. Thankfully, he was able to perform altho you could see that he was a bit more careful in his movements. He even had to do a slight modification in the choreo of Serenedipity.

I like BTS because they seem to touch my soul in a different way. It’s hard to explain in words but just know they captivated me in many ways.
I was moved by their lyrics and dedication. Their performance always on point and very entertain. Very humble, very talented group, very sweet, always think about their fans, very thoughtful, etc...
I do like others groups but they don’t moves me like BTS. After some time I eventually lost interest. Not all their work impress me like BTS. Not to be mean or rude but It’s boring watching other group.

There is always that one person or group or moment that comes and considered one in a lifetime. BTS is destined to be one of that thing. They meant to heal and isnpire people with music, performance and their humble personality. Big Hit did a great job supporting them, and Army is the luckiest fan in the world.

That’s so heartbreaking to me.. I was the leader of a volunteer humanitarian group for 5 months and it was insanely toxic.. they bullied me and stole my bedding and gossiped about me to my face and all sorts of other things, so I can’t imagine going through 10 years of even more intense bullying. It’s so sad seeing these stories and the consequences from the bullying. It’s another reason why I refuse to see groups automatically being family just because they’ve lived together for so long.. in my case, 5 months doesn’t seem long in comparison to 10 years, but people have to be willing to change and adapt, you have to build mutual trust and good communication, something BTS has absolutely mastered within their group. There needs to be balance, and with so many of these groups I don’t see that. They’re forced to live together for a long time, especially the ones who aren’t successful enough to get out of their company’s debt. Having lived with my toxic group, it doesn’t matter how long you live with them if they refuse to change.. it just becomes worse. You may go through things together, meet their families (which I did) and so many other things but that doesn’t mean anything in the end if you aren’t united with a common goal, talk things out and respect each other

For me personally, the fact BTS never dumb themselves down is probably a big factor in why I like them - either in their music or livestreams or interviews, they stay sharp even if they're often goofy. The fact they collectively appreciate such a wide variety of different tastes in art, literature, philosophy etc. and draw on a level of sophistication and thoughtfulness in their lyrics and promotions as well as just sharing support for many different types of art sets them apart from quite a lot of younger artists, most particularly in the world of pop. I said this around the amazing BTS CONNECT promotions for Mots:7, but they're really putting a lot of 'culture' back in 'pop culture'.

They aren’t spreading lies. BTS themselves have said many other groups don’t get along and fight a lot.. also bts do still live together. They still talk about sharing a house in the present tense and have bought other apartments, yes, but they’ve done vlives from their house and referred several times to living together still. I’m not saying all other groups don’t get along and constantly fight, but there’s also something about BTS’ bond that’s inspirational where other groups aren’t. It’s nothing to do with not believing other groups are close or not, and more looking at it from an introspective light.. This is coming from my point of view, and you have a different opinion which is totally okay, but you can tell BTS genuinely love each other so so much, they know their weaknesses and strengths and they’ve fought against prejudice and discrimination for so long. They were stomped on by the industry for years, cut from broadcasts, Twitter death threats cancelling whole concerts and fan meets, black oceans, petitions for them to disband, false accusations thrown at them every day... They’ve had to fight battles so many other groups have not and never will have to fight, and they’ve done it together. We as fans have seen their struggles, have been there with them, fought for them, seen their tears and hopelessness, and saw them rise to where they are now. They’ve pulled through trials nobody should ever have to go through and come together towards a common goal, and it’s just so amazing to see the support and love they give each other constantly in such small ways, from the way they listen to each other’s solo songs during car drives to the way they cry together and hurt together and hug each other. The quiet words of comfort when one member is crying away from the cameras, the gratitude and pure admiration they have. The respect they have for one another, even after 8-9 years of knowing one another. I have tried to get into other groups, especially twice who I do see having amazing relationships with each other and have had black oceans themselves.. but there’s something about BTS that just.. relates? Is more raw? To so many people, myself included. They are unabashedly themselves, genuine and organic with their success. They fight for social justice, they give 110% at all times. They’ve sacrificed their youth for us, have offered their words of comfort in times of need.. even with Covid, they had bangtan of the day, where they would post something every day, whether it was a vlive, a tweet, a message in weverse, a song cover.. anything they could do to be there for us. It’s not about refusing to see other groups bonds, it’s about seeing the abundant love and dedication BTS have as a BTS fan. the extra mile they go to show their love, the extra effort they put in. They have an insanely close bond that 95% of other groups don’t have, and turning a blind eye to that and accusing an army of discrediting other groups.. we’re not those groups’ fans, so I’m sure there’s behind the scenes stuff that shows similar struggles, but it’s not discrediting other groups to point out BTS strong bond because it IS so rare in the music industry. It IS rare in the kpop industry, because they’re so successful and yet they say they feel lonely without each other and would rather live together than apart while other groups live separate as soon as they make money (it’s not a bad thing to move apart, it’s normal.. but it also shows how much BTS rely on and need each other as a team) so please stop saying they’re spreading lies

I think what drew me to BTS was definitely the messages they spread in their songs. I've seen many groups come and go and they got me to stick with them because their songs touched me when I was going through a rough patch. When I first tried to get into BTS, I dismissed them as another one of those millions of kpop boy groups to be honest lol. I've seen MANY. But I took a deeper dive and I fell in love lol. Another aspect that differentiates them is the boys themselves. There are so many groups out there, but no two groups can be exactly the same. So many groups can all be hardworking, have similar struggles, be similarly talented, etc, etc, but BTS can't be copied (it's impossible to copy everything down to the dot anyways). The BTS members are different on an individual basis and then when brought together their chemistry on and off the stage is just different the others' and it touches you in a different way than all other groups. Not that other groups are bad. It really comes down to your own preferences at the end of the day as well.

A lot of people said a lot good things on why BTS is so successful, and I think they are all true. I remember DT you saying that BTS was the most complete group you have seen, and they got something for everybody. I think that in a nutshell is the biggest reason why they are so big. It is simply that they are so appealing to a wide range of people. After all, is a popularity contest.

Jimin’s muscle cramps are in his neck/shoulders and back. The incident they were talking about was for the graham norton show where Jimin woke up the morning of it and his arm was completely locked into place and he couldn’t move it.. there’s a behind the scene clip that shows Jimin with his arm awkwardly locked up against his chest and he can barely move his neck or turn his head or anything.. it’s really heartbreaking cause Jimin has to go and get shots at the hospital to relieve his muscles, that’s how severe it is. You can find the clip on dailymotion by searching “graham norton behind scenes”.. he works so so hard for us and his pain is chronic so it’s always there :( here’s the link: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7hc7w4

Bts is adored because they are bts, I think its honestly as simple as that. Yes a bunch of people work hard and do their thing but they aren't bts and as such they recieve love in a different way. BTS aren't loved because of some complicated formula its the result of them being themselves. Much like evey other person in the world is unique and individual so are bts so no one is doing what they are doing just by the fact that no one else is bts. They're loved because they're bts the sum of all their experiences is who they are and as a result impacts the art they put out, which no one else can replicate. Sure maybe on a personal level you might like bts because they've inspired some sort of change in you, I mean I have my reasons as well but it all boils down to the fact that this group of 7 people exist as themselves and the self that they are is wonderful and produces amazing music as a result.

idk what groups you're watching lol, but majority of groups are very close. It only makes sense when you think about it, many groups train with the same people for years before becoming a group, then they live together and spend years together. Majority of groups still live together to this day (just like BTS, though obviously BTS have their own houses now), and those who don't, they still spend nearly every day together. Considering most groups, like BTS, started so young (jungkook being 15 when debuted which is sadly a common age for maknaes), it makes sense that groups are so close. I've seen groups where their families even check on them, members visit someone's family with them and treat them like their own. I think the groups that aren't close are more rare. I think most of you guys just dont give other groups a chance, which is totally fine, to each their own, but maybe dont spread lies...and if you say you have tried, then maybe you didnt try the right group, there are so many lol. if you dont wanna believe other groups are close, alright, but dont spread it like its fact lol. I can definitely see some groups arent very close but from majority that i have gotten into, most definitely are.

For me BTS is up there because of the message they have in their lyrics. It doesn’t just apply to one person but to many others that are in similar situations. They taught me how to love myself. Like RM said...he is slowly loving himself and that’s how I am now. They are my therapy. Knowing that these boys care for me/army as much as we care for them is a good thing to have. They are very grounded and humble no matter how popular they are they always stay true to themselves and that’s what separated them from others. And if course a lot more 💜💜💜

i think bts is different from other groups in so many ways but what really sets them apart for me is how close they are. there are so many kpop groups out there where (in my opinion) you can tell that the members are basically just coworkers. bts has become family to each other and it’s very sweet and wholesome to see, and not something that occurs often.

the first couple of years of bts’ career, they weren’t necessarily unknown artists, but in comparison to now, they weren’t huge. it took a couple years for them to really take off in korea, but ever since the beginning, they’ve been promoting very clear and what you could consider to be bold and challenging messages within their music. you can see this in No More Dream, N.O., Spine Breaker, Tomorrow, etc. over the years they’ve grown and changed with their music, but bighit’s mission of “music and artist for healing” has always been consistent. this created a type of rock solid credibility that i genuinely cant find in another kpop act, or even just musical act in general. you look to their recent music and you see all these positive messages and intricate stories, but they’ve always been this way. they haven’t faltered from what their original goals and morals were. this is something i personally think really sets them apart. not only that, but these were messages and concepts that 100% came from them ever since the start. there is not only credibility, but sincerity. that being said, bts are one of the only remaining groups from 2013, they are seniors in their career, so it’s easy for me to say all this because their history and growth as a group has been so heavily documented. now, there are many opportunities for younger groups to develop in this same way, but bts were the first ones to do it and succeed.

JK was actually trying to do his warm up during his shower, that's how he injured himself. Maybe on the shower faucet or something like that. That's part of why he was so upset with himself. Also, he'd never been to Europe before, it was the first series of concerts for their European fans and he couldn't actually perform for them. In addition to all of that, his parents were in the audience at that first show in Europe, where they had to announce that he'd been injured. He ended up breaking down during the concert and crying, he was so upset.

For the question of why bts managed to get to where they are despite the heavy saturation of the kpop industry i would say: a) utilized social media from debut (b) had a huge amount of personalized video content since debut (c) started off with a hip hop/rap heavy concept which helped attract an international fan base early on (d) emphasized youth focused concepts and lyrics (e) put emphasis on the fact that they are involved with their music production/lyric writing (f) came from a relatively small company - people love an underdog (e) and of course some luck
