It takes an extremely long time before he can use the jutsu to absorb another body. I think its like a few years or something. If Orochimaru absorbed a random body now and not Sasukes then that would leave too much time open for Sasuke to potentially grow stronger than Orochimaru. The same thing pretty much happened with Itachi which they mentioned before. He grew too strong for Orochimaru to handle so he can't use his body for the jutsu. If he got Tsunade to help him then he wouldn't have had to rush the body swap.

2022-09-21 02:53:50 +0000 UTCYes, the translation wasn’t perfect but what the 3rd Hokage took away was “his precious jutsu” that he mentioned and his hands. All of the jutsu he had learned previously was in those hands and is now gone in this new body. He gon have to start from scratch, besides the basics that don’t take much to do.

The show never said that his jutsu is gone because it stay with the body and not the mind. That's ALL NEW info for me!!! The show should have explained that. Just getting a new body doesn't mean his jutsu comes with it. That's a cool idea I can get behind.

If he changes bodies, he gets use of his hands again but his jutsu is still lost forever. Also, Kabuto just said that he can’t use that body transfer jutsu for a few years now he just did it. So it’s not like he can do it whenever he wants. Sasuke’s body gives him access to the sharingan so he can just copy and get back all the jutsu he wants
