The Lepus Pendant

She wasn't a very good shoplifter, to say the least. After dropping the necklace into her pocket and turning away from the stall, she tensed up and froze when she felt the shopkeeper's hand tightening around her wrist. "You don't even want that one," he said. "Worthless junk. This is more your speed." He held up a large blue pendant, rough but still alluring, like a bit of pottery that had cracked into a perfect diamond shape. The shopkeeper motioned toward her pocket, and when she handed back her stolen prize, he dropped the other into her hand with a wink. She gave him a quizzical look, but he was already tending to other customers.

After putting some distance between herself and the stall, she took a closer look at it. She hadn't noticed earlier that a small, intricate rabbit's head was etched into the center of one side. Overall, the pendant looked quite valuable. Why would the shopkeeper just give this up? She decided not to question her good fortune and clasped it around her neck.

She soon became aware of an unearthly blue glow emanating from somewhere below her...looking down, the glow seemed to be coming from the pendant. She reached for it, then stopped in alarm as she noticed her hands...her newly furred hands, slowly contorting into paws! More of her was changing, rapidly, all at once...fur snaked across her body, her ears burst from beneath her hair, and her chest became dotted with animalistic teats. She wasn't sure if she was speechless from shock, or whether the enchantment was stealing her voice away as well...with her newly heightened hearing, she thought she heard the shopkeeper's laughter echoing down the alley...
