I'll Be Wearing Green - Part 4 [NSFW]

Izuku spotted a little table in a quieter corner of the bar, grinning as he led Katsuki over and set down both their drinks. He pulled out a chair, gesturing for Katsuki to sit, and surprisingly, Katsuki obeyed.

"I guess we can skip all the getting to know you bullshit,” Katsuki grumbled.

"No way, you're not getting out of small talk that easily,” Izuku laughed. “So. Kacchan, was it? Where did you grow up?"

"Bakugou, actually," Katsuki smirked. "I'm pretty sure we're meant to be polite about this shit on the first date."

"Nice to meet you, Bakugou. I'm Midoriya Izuku."

"Never mind, it sounds fucking ridiculous in your voice."

“Just admit you like it when I call you Kacchan,” Izuku teased, leaning on his elbows to survey Katsuki’s little pout. “So, what do you do for a living?”

Katsuki rolled his eyes, but to Izuku’s delight, he played along.

“I’m a hero,” he huffed. “I’ve been ranked tenth since about two years ago.”

“Wow! That’s so cool! Tell me about your quirk!”

“Seriously?”

“Yeah! I’m fascinated by quirks, I love studying them. Tell me about yours!”

“I swear to God nerd you’re the weirdest piece of shit I’ve ever met,” Katsuki huffed, looking away. “My sweat explodes.”

“All of it? That must be hard in summer!”

“Just my hands.”

“Oh! Neat! Can you explode it at will or does it need an ignition source?”

“No, I- Jesus Christ Deku, please, this is weird as fuck.”

“Okay, okay,” Izuku giggled. “Since you said please. Tell me about work, then. Recently, I mean.”

Katsuki seemed to relax a little at that, sharing a couple of stories about villain fights and rescues and idiot colleagues, and Izuku watched him with a soft smile. It had been a long time since he got to really spend time with Katsuki, and it had never been as open and friendly as this.

“Um, how about you?” Katsuki asked awkwardly. “Anything… Interesting going on? At work?”

“Hmm… It’s actually been pretty quiet, lately. We raided a big gang the other week and I think everyone is just kinda laying low until we let our guard down, you know? I’ve gotten a few days off, even a whole weekend once! It’s a nice break.”

“Oh, yeah, I heard about that. You didn’t get hurt or some shit?”

“Nope, I’m fine!”

“You sure?”

“Why, is Kacchan worried?” Izuku teased.

“No, nerd, you’re just constantly getting yourself injured to save other people. I know what you’re like.”

“I’m getting better!”

“You don’t even have a decent sleep schedule, I’m hardly gonna believe that shit.”

“I’ve been getting better!”

Katsuki blushed, and Izuku’s mind drifted back to the first night on his bed, and a few more since. He opened and closed his mouth a few times, struggling to find words, and in the end it was Katsuki who broke the silence.

“I enjoyed it. I think you did too,” he mumbled. “So it’s… No big deal, right?”

“Right,” Izuku nodded, relieved. “I had fun. If you want to… Continue. I um, I’m open to that.”

“Even if it makes you go to bed early?”

Izuku laughed, and Katsuki finally cracked a smile when he heard it, taking a long sip from his beer to hide it behind the glass.

“Even if it makes me go to bed early,” he confirmed. “You could call me next time, if you want. So I don’t have to keep picking my phone up.”

“I could just come over.”

“You want to?”

“That depends,” Katsuki smirked. “You gonna be a good boy for me?”

“Maybe. Maybe you’ll have to teach me a lesson.”

“That can be arranged.”

Izuku drained the last of his glass, setting it down pointedly on the table, and Katsuki snorted as he took the last few sips of his own.

“Eager, huh?”

“Can you blame me? I already had fun when I didn’t know who it was, now I know it’s Kacchan.

“Good answer.”

As they wove their way out of the bar, heading back toward the station, Izuku felt a warmth against his hand, looking down to see Katsuki’s fingers lacing through his. With a smile, he returned the grip, and Katsuki visibly relaxed, his shoulders falling out of their tight, tense sport around his ears.

“Kacchan is okay with it being me?” Izuku asked quietly.

“Obviously,” he snorted. “Are you okay? I’m not exactly… Well, you know.”

“Kacchan is amazing, I’ve always said so.”

“But… Shit. I’ve always been an asshole, you know?”

“That was so long ago, Kacchan. You’re such a good hero, such a good friend. There’s no one else I’d rather be with than you.”

Katsuki raised an eyebrow at him, and Izuku braced himself for a correction on being together or at minimum, a lecture about being too sappy.

“You’re telling me you wouldn’t choose All Might in his prime? Big, hot, muscular young All Might?”

“Kacchan! Why does your mind even go there?!” he demanded, burning bright red. “And no. He’s practically my Dad now! Why?! Would you?!”

“I mean, not now, but before we met him? Hell yeah.”

“Kacchan! He was your teacher!”

“I said before we met him.”

“He’s so old compared to us!”

“Which part of this time travel situation are you not understanding?”

“It’s so weird.

“He was a hot fuckin’ twenty year old, what do you want from me?”

“Kacchan I swear to God.”

“Alright, alright.” Katsuki sighed, squeezing his hand lightly in apology. “I’ll cut it with the All Might shit.”

“Thank you.”

“Hawks, though. You wouldn’t go for Hawks?”

“Kacchan!”

“Don’t look at me like that, I know he’s your type.”

“Well obviously,” Izuku huffed. “Everyone would go for Hawks, but I want Kacchan!

“Alright, I’ll take it.”

When they reached the station they unlinked wordlessly, digging out their wallets to scan their cards, and Izuku led the way to the platform he so recently was getting off at, trembling as he thought about what kind of person might be waiting for him just a few metres away.

“It’s only about ten minutes,” Izuku told him, as they waited for the train to arrive.

“Is that all? You said fifteen to twenty, earlier.”

“Well, yeah, I had to put decent human clothes on first. It was my day off.”

“It took you ten minutes to do that?”

“Yeah, I wanted to look okay for you.”

“You failed,” Katsuki snorted, ruffling his curls. “You’re always a mess.”

“Meanie,” Izuku huffed, puffing out his cheeks. “You’re meant to compliment people you’re on a date with.”

“I don’t mind if you’re a mess.”

“Hm… I’m still pretty sure that was an insult.”

Katsuki leaned in closer as the train pulled in, lips right beside Izuku’s ear when he spoke again.

“I’ll make you much messier in about fifteen minutes.”
