4kids definitely had some... interesting voice acting direction at times, seriously, Misty's opponents inflections were odd. The strategy behind battles in the first 2 game generations was pretty simple, I mean, Gen 1 is kind of a game of rock paper scissors in ways when it comes to type match up, but each gen they have built up the mechanics behind the battles a lot, the competitive scene has come up with some pretty crazy strategies.
