Truly an amazing movie and paid good respects to the source material. Important note about when you were surprised the old man survived the explosion, but Maria didn't. That's actually because in the source material Maria was shot through the heart. However, they obviously couldn't show that in a kid's movie, so I'm pleased with how they handled it. Also, that song that was playing when Sonic and Shadow went Super form, is Live & Learn by Crush40, which played in the game when they both went Super form and teamed up together in the game against the final boss, so the story isn't 1 to 1, but they kept the best vibes from it in the translation. I also recommend listening to that song some time. Great song. Now, I don't mean to be a downer, but I'll just share my honest concerns as a long time fan, and it's with how they will be handling Amy Rose (the pink one). In the games, she played the key role in changing Shadow. Her character was always about love, and she showed that power in Sonic Adventure 2 when she changed Shadow, but the directors of the movies said that they thought that was too "minor" of a role for girls to look up to, and instead sound like they're going to be changing her character to be more of a girlboss, sadly, so I'm worried about that, cause I always liked Amy's character.

2025-07-03 13:40:27 +0000 UTCAs someone that played Sonic Adventure 2 pretty religiously, growing up (and apparently 240 more hours on Steam), I felt like a kid again when I heard "Live and Learn" right at the start. Also, we're supposedly getting a Shadow spinoff show like we got for Knuckles. If it even remotely follows the plot for Shadow the Hedgehog (the game), we're in for a ride and a half full of edgehog goodness. For example, Shadow riding a bike and having a gun was taken straight from his game. And Eggman "dying" is probably just a way for them to give them an excuse to retire the character if Jim Carrey doesn't want to come back for another. Ngl, I respect it even if I'll miss him if he doesn't come back. Can't imagine anyone else playing Eggman. That man is the only actor I've seen able to act more animated than the animated characters.
