I don't disagree with you lol, Ash has been winning competitions too easily in Johto. I won't spoil of course, but I will say Ash doesn't exactly have a reputation for having unbeatable plot armour later, well, I say later but we're actually not too far away now from when the series goes through a change, I mean you've already started to feel that with the writing quality a little already.
