The individual stories so far have been masterfully done. I was SO impressed as we realized that this is just a game, and being hunted is the only life Tosk knows.

2025-05-23 21:53:20 +0000 UTCI think O'brien was the perfect character to develop a sort of bond with Tosk, he's basically the working class everyman of the show, he's friendly, approachable and just generally likeable, he feels like someone who'd be easy to get along with, also I have to say the makeup job on Tosk is genuinely really good for a one off character, plus the actor does well at giving a kind of innocent but confused feel to the character. Out of all the Star Trek series I think DS9 does the best job of fleshing out its different species and make them feel unique, like each series does have its handful of different species it likes to focus on and develop, but I think that's one of the things you'll enjoy most about DS9, its world building, because its main setting is a stationary space station, it can actually take its time to develop guest characters and the main players in the region. It also doesn't feel like it's trying to moralise to you about every negative thing about the different cultures, some species can actually just feel alien and do things that are bad without the episode having to hammer in that it's wrong lol.
