Eh that's a show thing if anything I didn't care for his speech at all its not who conquest is its like just because George created star wars didn't mean he always nailed everything kirkman may have created invincible but he didn't do it alone and he's definitely had missteps in the Amazon adaptation

He is entirely honest and gets all his issues out in these conquests. But as he said, he doesn't even get a name, he doesn't get a life, he only gets a purpose, he only gets to fight and dominate.

The viltrumite empire threat does not decrease at all. Whether you kill him or keep him alive your planet is still fucked if they decide to pull up. 1 viltrumite can tear through the entire planet. Atleast with Conquest alive you can potentially get valuable information and learn their weaknesses. Sure you run the risk of him escaping but he is more valuable alive than dead. It would be a different story if earth was able to handle most viltrumites and Conquest is the one that turns the table but Earth can't handle any of the viltrumites right now. You kill Conquest then the viltrumites decide to send 3 more. Now killing Conquest was irrelevant. Cecil is constantly thinking about the future threat and even if they kill Conquest. It doesn't help them stop the next invasion at all
